JP and BMitch discuss which Washington assistant coaches might leave the staff next season. JP thinks most of the offensive assistants could end up getting higher-ranking jobs with other teams because of the success of Jayden Daniels.

00:00What is the simple underlying truth to Brian Johnson, Tavita Pritchard, and David Blau
00:05getting these interviews?
00:10When you are part of a staff that works with a young quarterback that comes in and has
00:15an all-time season, everybody wants to talk to you, man.
00:22They want to see if there's some secret sauce involved that they can maybe get in on.
00:27What was it that made it go?
00:31I like Tavita a lot.
00:32I've known him for a few years now.
00:35After two years ago, when Tavita worked with Sam Howell all year, nobody was calling.
00:41Tavita works with Jayden all year, whoa, what do we got here?
00:48What do you see in this kid that made him good, in Jayden's sense?
00:54What was it?
00:55How can we get our guy to do the same thing?
00:58All those little things happen.
01:00It's not always just the coach.
01:03They got the coach who experienced, like players get an experience with a coach, the coach
01:07get an experience with a player.
01:08The coach learned a little bit of how to deal with certain levels of players too, the way
01:13you talk to them.
01:15Did they have the, I don't want anybody ever on a team if he's not self-motivated.
01:20If he's self-motivated or not, those type of things.
01:25I think Tavita Pritchard is a talented, really smart guy.
01:28Tavita Pritchard is wild if you think about it in this fashion.
01:32He was Andrew Luck's backup at Stanford.
01:36He's a Stanford guy, incredibly smart, incredibly down to earth.
01:40Now Liam Cohen is thinking about bringing him in to Jacksonville to be the Jaguars offensive
01:45coordinator.
01:46What do we know about Tavita?
01:48He's been the QB coach here, some mobile quarterbacks throughout and helping guys.
01:56I mean, how through a lot of picks, but if you look at Jaden this year, they really played
02:01under control despite being a mobile guy and similar to the Houston situation where that
02:08is Stroud's gig, Stroud ain't going anywhere.
02:11So whoever's coming in needs to make it work with CJ Stroud in Jacksonville.
02:16That is Trevor Lawrence's gig.
02:19Lawrence ain't going anywhere.
02:20They just committed a 60 mil a year for that kid last year, I think.
02:22So they need a guy that could come in and make it work for Trevor.
02:26And I could see how, if you're the, Liam Cohen just got that job coming from Tampa, right?
02:32Liam Cohen's going to be the play caller.
02:34He didn't take that job to give somebody else play calling.
02:37This is his first time being a head coach.
02:39So he needs, you don't want to oversimplify it and say it's a vibes guy, but you want
02:43somebody that watches film the right way.
02:46You want somebody that makes sure their quarterback understands when to risk it, when to protect
02:52the football.
02:53And those have been really big problems for Lawrence, I would say.
02:56And I think Tavita makes a lot of sense in that capacity.
