00:00There's, of course, a lot of sci-fi movies
00:03that are painting the worst possible scenarios with AI,
00:06where AI is invading every aspect of our privacy
00:09and controlling us and manipulating us
00:12for its own benefit.
00:14But this is a lot of anthropomorphizing of AI.
00:18This is projecting a lot of our evolutionary quirks
00:21that got us where we are.
00:23This egocentricity and this self-preservation
00:30and this competition and this sort of protection of kin
00:35at the detriment of others
00:38that were absolutely necessary to our own evolution
00:43and to us making it so far.
00:45But AI doesn't have to have these needs.
00:50AI doesn't have a self.
00:52AI doesn't have this evolutionary strive for survival,
00:58for domination, for ruling, and so on and so forth.
01:02And it is up to us to choose whether we want to program it
01:05into the AI or not.
