Obviously, everyone is different and attracted to different things, but studies have shown what people on the whole find attractive in a potential partner. One of the most important things is confidence, as someone who is confident in who they are and makes proper eye contact is far more likely to be seen as attractive. Studies also suggest that features like a higher-pitched voice and even a red outfit are more likely to get someone's attention, so sometimes it's the things you don't even think about. Let's take a look at eight of the features that attract people the most.

00:00Contrary to popular belief and every Katharine Heigl movie, love and attraction are less
00:04like a romance novel and a whole lot more like a psychology journal.
00:07Stop it!
00:08It's not, it's not shooting, honey, oh god!"
00:11Take notes, because here's what Science says are the features that attract people the most.
00:15Lip service
00:17Results from a study at Manchester University found that lips are a woman's most attractive
00:21physical attribute.
00:22And when you think about ladies like Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson, it's a tough
00:26point to argue.
00:27My favorite part of my body, I like my lips."
00:31For extra credit, pink and red lipstick colors were found to hold a man's attention even
00:35longer.
00:36When in doubt, go red.
00:37It's a classic, and it works.
00:39Eye contact
00:41Eyes may be the window to the soul, but they're also the door to keeping someone's attention.
00:45Turns out your pupils dilate a little more when you're attracted to someone.
00:48The kicker?
00:49People are apparently super attracted to dilated pupils.
00:52Lesson learned, always go on first dates after an eye doctor appointment.
00:55Curly whites
00:56Surprise!
00:57Research suggests that straight white teeth are more attractive.
01:00We shouldn't even have to tell you this, but brush, floss, and visit your dentist regularly.
01:04Good dental hygiene provides one of those subconscious signals of health and fertility
01:08that evolution so craftily tucked into our DNA to help us survive.
01:11Thanks, evolution.
01:12Now pay for our Invisalign.
01:14It's not cheap.
01:15High notes
01:19High-pitched voices in women are apparently sexier, according to a study conducted by
01:22University College London.
01:24The researchers theorized it's because men associated higher-voiced women with having
01:27a smaller and more attractive body size.
01:30Of course, we know the truth.
01:31Helium fetish
01:32Am I doing this right?
01:34Of course, that doesn't really account for Hollywood's supply of gorgeous, deep-voiced
01:37stars, like Catherine Zeta-Jones, for example.
01:39I have had the proper instructions since I was four.
01:44Confidence is key
01:46Being confident can vastly increase your sex appeal.
01:49Studies have found that confident people are more apt to send off signals of interest.
01:53Send more signals out, and you'll get more signals back in return.
01:56Just don't make it obvious, or desperate.
01:58It must be my sessuality, because I am so very sessual.
02:03Even if you're not the hottest person in the room, having the mindset that you are can
02:06help make a better impression than a model with zero presence.
02:11Facial symmetry
02:12What might be the most important feature, according to researchers, is something we
02:15can do very little about — facial symmetry.
02:18This is when the left side of your face looks exactly like the right side of your face,
02:21and vice versa.
02:22Everything's matching up perfectly from one side to another.
02:25Most celebrities and models have strong, symmetrical faces.
02:28You can't really change your facial symmetry unless you go under the knife, and we don't
02:31suggest trying it.
02:33And remember, there are no shortage of asymmetrical hunks and hotties out there, too.
02:37Hips don't lie
02:38Apparently, both Shakira and Sir Mix-a-Lot were right.
02:42Researchers found that men preferred larger hip-to-waist ratios than smaller ones, so
02:45go ahead and flaunt those curves.
02:48Seeing red
02:49A study of dress color stereotypes included two photos of the exact same woman.
02:53Posing the same way in both, she wore blue in one picture and red in the other.
02:57According to the results, the photo of the woman in red was rated as more attractive
03:00and sexually desirable.
03:01Furthermore, the men of the study indicated they would be more willing to date the scarlet-clad
03:05woman and even spend more money on her.
03:08Blue never stood a chance.
