00:00In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.
00:06These simple yet profound words remind us that our chosen path is not one of privilege but of purpose.
00:14More than just a job, public service is a lifelong commitment.
00:18It is about dedicating ourselves to something bigger, something bigger than ourselves.
00:23The well-being of our communities, the progress of our nation and the dignity of every Filipino.
00:30In our respective spheres of influence, we measure success not by what we achieve for ourselves
00:36but by the positive impact we make on the lives of others.
00:40It is not always easy.
00:42There are days of great challenge, times of doubt and moments when the weight of responsibility can feel overwhelming.
00:49But it is in these moments that we are called to be stronger, to remain steadfast and to remember why we are here.
00:56To make a difference.
00:58To ensure that every Filipino, regardless of status or circumstance, can enjoy a better and more fulfilling life.
01:07Sacrifice comes with the territory.
01:10Dedication is non-negotiable.
01:13But the rewards are unlike any other.
01:16When we see children in our communities given the chance to go to school,
01:21when farmers gain access to resources they need,
01:25when the vulnerable feel protected and heard,
01:28that is when we realize that what we do and fight for truly matters.
01:34At the heart of public service is a commitment to uphold justice and fairness for all.
01:41Our former President, President Ferdinand Edelin Marcos, once envisioned a government that serves as the guardian of the law's majesty,
01:50the source of justice to the weak and solace to the underprivileged,
01:55a ready friend and protector of the common man,
01:58and a sensitive instrument of his advancement and not captivity.
02:03This remains as true today as it was then.
02:08Our role is to be the bridge that connects the government to the people,
02:13ensuring that justice is not just a concept, but a lived reality, especially for those who need it most.
02:21The privilege of serving the public comes with a profound responsibility.
02:26To listen, to understand, and to act.
02:30Our role is not merely to speak, but to ensure that the voices of the unheard are amplified and addressed.
02:37Every bill we propose, every law we pass, every reform we champion,
02:43must be grounded in the principle that governance exists not to rule, but to uplift.
02:49Public service is a constant balancing act between tradition and progress, authority and accountability.
02:57Leadership demands both conviction and adaptability, ensuring that decisions are guided by wisdom, not impulse.
03:05We must be strong enough to make tough decisions, yet humble enough to recognize when we need to listen and learn.
03:12Only through this balance can we create a government that is truly responsive to the needs of the people.
03:19We must remember that as public servants, we are nation builders.
03:25The work we do today shapes the lives of generations to come.
03:29Every law we pass, every reform we introduce, every initiative we push forward
03:35has the potential to shape futures, uplift families, and transform communities.
03:41This is why our efforts must always be accurate in genuine service,
03:46in a leadership that prioritizes progress over policy, over politics,
03:51and in a governance that ensures no Filipino is left behind.
03:57And in this journey of service, we do not walk alone.
04:02We are surrounded by fellow leaders, colleagues, and government workers who share the same vision
04:09to see a Philippines that is just, progressive, and full of opportunity for all.
04:15My dear colleagues in the House of Representatives, as we raise our flag today,
04:20may it serve as a powerful reminder of the responsibility we carry
04:26to rise above personal ambition and dedicate our time, energy, and purpose to the service of our nation.
04:35Let us immerse ourselves in the work that truly matters,
04:39for in losing ourselves in service, we discover the best version of who we are.
