00:00The poll body is playing catch-up on its work to print out a sufficient number of ballots

00:04for all registered voters for the May 12 midterm polls.

00:07After delays in Supreme Court orders to ring state news and candidates,

00:11the poll body disqualified previously. Ballot printing has finally resumed,

00:15as Sir Luis Erispe gets us up to speed on a 13% completion mark by the Kamalek in this report.

00:24With just two weeks since the Commission on Elections started printing ballots for the

00:282025 midterm polls, Kamalek Chief Attorney George Erwin Garcia said,

00:33the National Printing Office has succeeded in printing 9 million ballots. This means

00:38they have completed 13.12% of the target 72 million ballots to be printed with only 62

00:45million remaining. But the Kamalek clarified, their target date to finish is still on April 14,

00:51because even though the printing process may have been expedited,

00:55the manual verification will be thorough. This will ensure all the ballots will be ready

01:00for the elections on May 12. Aside from the printing of ballots,

01:04the Kamalek ais to release policies on prohibiting distributions of sample ballots

01:09on polling precincts on the day of the polls as part of the preparations.

01:14They also advise voters to bring their own companies of sample ballots,

01:29as this will allow faster pacing while voting. Meanwhile,

01:32the Kamalek also looks into the possibility of using malls and gymnasiums as polling precincts.

01:44Kamalek said this will still be discussed with the Department of Education.
