00:00Aston Villa's deadline day has been much like their entire transfer window. Very, very busy
00:06indeed. This morning the signing of Marcus Rashford was announced from Manchester United,
00:11a significant addition for Unai Emery's team as they look to go far in the Champions League and
00:15then hopefully finish in the Champions League positions in the Premier League once again.
00:19Rashford's completely outed by Ruben Emery at United. The Man Utd manager said he didn't have
00:24enough effort, the desire was incorrect and that he wasn't a Man Utd player at this very
00:29moment in time. Villa have taken that opportunity to sign him. 75% of his wages will be paid until
00:35the summer, a small loan fee as well and then on top of that an option to buy for £40m. Rashford
00:43saying he's delighted to join Villa. A little bit unusual for him as he's never joined a different
00:47club. He's always been at United but an exciting opportunity nonetheless. Marco Asensio from PSG
00:53is expected to follow Rashford through the doors at Villa Park. What a signing he could be on a
00:58loan deal. A straight loan that one with a fee and the full salary paid. There's no option or
01:04obligation to buy for Asensio. The three-time Champions League winner, just like Rashford,
01:08joining at a time when Villa could really do some depth in the wide areas and in attack as well.
01:14Also the sale of John Duran for over £70m including add-ons to Al Masur. A bit of a
01:20whack in terms of the squad depth and the striking options and then Oli Watkins hobbling off against
01:24Wolves. Definitely a blow but with Rashford here now and with Asensio expected to be announced
01:30after passing his medical, all is well at Aston Villa. In terms of the outgoings, there are quite
01:35a few loans that are happening at the moment. Sil Swinkels has joined Bristol Rovers. This should
01:42be an exciting loan for him and then you've got Kosta Nijelkovic who has joined RB Leipzig. Of
01:47course Villa came up against Leipzig in the Champions League this season. He has joined
01:50on a loan deal with an option to buy for around £13m. That's about double what Villa paid for him
01:57last January so at least that's a bit of a profit. Caden Young is going to join Royal Antwerp in
02:02Belgium and other than that really there's not really been too much more business to talk about
02:07but still a busy day in the grand scheme of things. What a window it has been for Aston Villa
02:11and I think Unai Emery would be pretty happy with his squad. The only other downside really is the
02:16fact that they've not signed a defender. Axel de Zazie from Chelsea looked like a potential loan
02:21addition and the player had agreed personal terms but Chelsea are charging way too much,
02:26around £5m for the rest of the season and Villa did not want to proceed with that deal.
