Commuters travelling to and from Batu Caves KTM Komuter station can get free rides on Feb 10 and 11 in conjunction with the Thaipusam festival.

Speaking at a press conference held at Batu Caves on Tuesday (Feb 4), Transport Minister Anthony Loke also said KTM Komuter would operate 24 hours daily for four days from Feb 9 to 12.

00:07This year, PTB KTMB will provide additional services to the KTM commuter.
00:18It will operate for 24 hours, 4 days and 3 nights, from 9 to 12 February.
00:29This initiative is taken to meet the needs of the passengers,
00:34especially the Hindus, tourists and the public,
00:39who want to witness the uniqueness of the Pusam celebration in Batu Cave.
00:45To ensure the comfort and ease of use,
00:50the Tanjung Malim Clang Port will operate on a full schedule throughout this celebration.
00:59In short, the additional train operation includes
01:0333 services for Batu Cave, Sebang Island, Batu Cave,
01:0945 services for Batu Cave, Batu Cave Port,
01:1628 services for KL Sentral, Batu Cave, KL Sentral,
01:216 services for Batu Cave, Bangi, Batu Cave,
01:263 services for Batu Cave, Sentul,
01:30and 3 services for Batu Cave, Subang, Jaya.
01:34Usually, only 96 trips a day are provided for commuter passengers.
01:41However, for this year's Pusam celebration,
01:45KTMB will provide 44 additional services a day,
01:51making a total of 140 trips a day,
01:57to meet the high demand,
02:00especially on the day of this celebration.
02:03The additional service will start after the last train every day,
02:08starting at 9.55pm,
02:13for the route from Sebang Island Station to Batu Cave,
02:16and starting at 9.30pm,
02:18for the train from Kelang Island Station to Batu Cave.
02:22For KL Sentral passengers,
02:25the additional service will be extended,
02:28starting at 11am,
02:33making a better increase,
02:35which is every 30 minutes,
02:37compared to one hour on a normal day.
02:40As a government initiative to make the Pusam celebration more meaningful,
02:45especially to the adherents of the Hindu religion,
02:48the Ministry of Transport through KTMB with its subsidiary,
02:53announced a free fare to KL Sentral commuter passengers
