Meghan Markle & Billie Eilish Surprise Teen Who Lost Home In L.A. Fires

00:03Meghan Markle and Billie Eilish teamed up to give back.

00:08On February 4th, the Duchess of Sussex revealed she pulled off an epic surprise for a teenage girl

00:13who lost everything in the recent Los Angeles wildfires with the help of the Grammy winner.

00:19I was just told that something arrived that I've been waiting for. Oh my god.

00:23Meghan then explained that she met this 15-year-old girl and her mom while they

00:31were visiting Altadena, California after the devastating wildfires with her husband,

00:35Prince Harry. About two or three weeks ago when my husband and I were in Altadena, we

00:41went to a community where all the homes were left in ashes. This mom had found a couple things

00:50As I was talking to her, I turned and looked and I saw this young woman and I said,

00:55oh my gosh, how old are you? She's 15. She lives there. And her mom shared something with me

01:00and said that when they came back to see their house for the first time, which is as we were

01:05meeting them, that all that she'd been looking for in her home was the t-shirt from the Billie

01:12Eilish concert that she had just gone to that she left in the washing machine or the dryer.

01:18And of course, they now see their home in the washing machine, the dryer or ash. They're not

01:22there anymore. Although Meghan admitted she didn't know the Grammy winner personally,

01:26she was going to do what she could to get her that shirt. I said, well, I don't know Billie

01:31Eilish. I'm going to figure out how to get you this shirt. So I thought of everybody that I knew

01:35and I made a voice note and I was like, please can someone get this voice note to Billie Eilish?

01:39Here's what I'm asking. You guys, I don't even know what all this stuff means, but it's

01:45it's signed for her. Is that a thing, a lunchbox thing? I don't know. This is when I feel really

01:50old. The 43 year old then thanked Billie for sending all the merch. Huge thank you, Billie

01:56Eilish. This is going to mean so much to her. And honestly, to Adam Levine and Behati, you guys

02:02helped get this over the line to everyone who's showing up for people in big and small ways to

02:07get through what's happened in California. Just thank you so much. I'm going to go and email her

02:12mom now. Just wanted to share that with you guys. The video comes weeks after Megan and Prince Harry

02:18got involved in the relief efforts for the Los Angeles wildfires back in January, visiting

02:23Pasadena, California, where they reportedly donated money and supplies, spoke to the families

02:28affected and served meals with World Central Kitchen, according to People magazine. Pasadena

02:33Mayor Victor Gordo spoke to Fox 11 about their visit. They want to be as helpful as they can be.

02:39And, you know, really, they just wanted to be supportive. We visited with some of the affected

02:46families in some of the burned out areas in Pasadena and Altadena. You know, they took the

02:56time to meet the people that are affected and spend time. And, you know, they're just very

03:03caring people who are very concerned for their friends. The Eaton fire that impacted Altadena

03:09is now 100% contained and burned more than 14,000 acres, destroyed 9,400 structures and killed 17

03:16people. The Palisades fire is also 100% contained and burned more than 23,000 acres.

03:22As of February 4th, it killed 12 people and damaged 6,800 structures. Over the weekend,

03:28the Recording Academy and Music Cares raised $24 million for fire relief efforts,

03:34including raising $9 million on Sunday during the 2025 Grammy Awards.
