00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the greatest Superbowl
00:11brand commercials of the decade so far from 2020 until 2024 that left a lasting impression
00:17on the audience.
00:27Floating QR Code – Coinbase Back in the days of yore, we would turn on
00:31our DVD players, wait until the screensaver kicked in, and spend hours watching the logo
00:36bounce around the black screen due to rumors of the logo perfectly hitting a corner.
00:41Those were the days.
00:42Anyway, in 2022, the cryptocurrency company Coinbase cashed in on the nostalgia with their
00:47version.
00:53Instead of the DVD logo, they had a QR code ricocheting about, which led people to an
00:58offer of free bitcoin for signing up with the company.
01:01This simple commercial caused the audience to go crazy for it.
01:05So many people scanned the code, resulting in over 20 million hits in one minute, that
01:09it caused the Coinbase app to crash.
01:19Sesame Street Sing Song – DoorDash
01:33If you were to list the most iconic songs from Sesame Street, the people in your neighborhood
01:38would be high up there.
01:39All about those residing in the neighborhood and the jobs they do, DoorDash decided to
01:43pay homage to it in 2021.
01:51With Hamilton star David Diggs as the leading human, he takes Big Bird around the street,
01:57promoting supporting local businesses with the delivery service.
02:03After starting with the familiar song, Diggs makes it his own with a rap version as famous
02:08Sesame Street residents pop up.
02:10On top of the nostalgia, the modern take and the catchy beat, the commercial also mentioned
02:14that DoorDash would donate $1 from every order to the non-profit organization Sesame Workshop.
02:30Breaking Memory Room – Uber Eats
02:41Not settling for one celebrity, Uber Eats went all out for their Super Bowl commercial
02:45in 2024.
02:53The premise involves the saying that to remember something, people have to forget something
02:57else.
02:58This is due to someone wanting to remember that Uber Eats also delivers groceries.
03:02Famous faces pop up in funny skits that involve them forgetting key moments of their careers.
03:07We have the Beckhams forgetting about the Spice Girls, Jelly Roll and his face tattoos,
03:11a sure Super Bowl halftime show, and average folks getting involved.
03:15But the biggest was Jennifer Aniston forgetting who David Schwimmer is and that they work
03:19together on Friends.
03:25The company also released smaller commercials with their celebs that also played into the
03:29forgetting concept and viral moments.
03:387.
03:39Alexa's New Body – Amazon
03:40Amazon's Alexa has been a success when it comes to crafting Super Bowl commercials.
03:57After all, in 2018, they did one about the virtual assistant losing her voice, bringing
04:02famous faces to step in with hilarious scenarios.
04:17Well in 2021, they knocked it out of the park again.
04:28Promoting the new look Alexa, one of the staff stated she couldn't imagine a more
04:32beautiful vessel for it until she spotted an advertisement for Michael B. Jordan's
04:36Without Remorse, which was distributed by Amazon Studios.
04:40Then we watch a series of skits with Alexa B. Jordan living with the woman.
04:44She melts whenever she interacts with him, all while her husband is ignored.
04:53Unsurprisingly, it was that year's most-watched Super Bowl commercial on social media.
05:006.
05:04New Musical Neighbors – T-Mobile
05:15In 2022, Scrubb stars Zach Braff and Donald Faison reignited their on-screen bromance
05:21to do a T-Mobile Super Bowl commercial that parodied West Side Story's I Feel Pretty.
05:25The following year, with musical theater numbers still coursing through the creators, the duo
05:30teamed up with their new T-Mobile neighbor John Travolta, who was struggling with his
05:34broadband.
05:43This perfectly set the trio up to parody Travolta's iconic song, Summer Nights from Greece, with
05:48the brand's home internet service.
05:57With throwback poses, dance moves, and the famous melody, fans of Scrubb's and Greece
06:02both got to celebrate.
06:03Plus, the song is just irresistibly catchy.
06:115.
06:14Good Decisions Through the Ages – FTX
06:17The 2022 Super Bowl was a boon for cryptocurrency companies.
06:21The most intricate commercial hands-down goes to FTX.
06:30Armed with Larry David, they took us on a trip down history lane.
06:33David played various characters, or one immortal one, who is shown various major inventions
06:40However, the Curb Your Enthusiasm star dismisses the creations and concepts with brutal and
06:58hilarious comebacks, including The Wheel, The Declaration of Independence, and The Lightbulb.
07:16In the end, someone showcases FTX to David, telling him it's a safe way to get into crypto,
07:21which he ignores.
07:28Weirdly, this would be accurate, as the company collapsed that same year due to fraud.
07:404.
07:41Loretta – Google
07:43Not all memorable Super Bowl commercials tickle the funny bone.
07:47Sometimes they make us feel other emotions.
07:53In 2020, Google released an advertisement that had a man looking on the search site
07:57for how to not forget.
07:59Throughout, he talks to the company's virtual assistant about his wife Loretta, who is heavily
08:04implied to have passed away.
08:14As well as getting it to display photos of Loretta and her favorite film, the man asks
08:18the assistant to remember various facts about her.
08:21Google notes each time, and later shows him all the incidents throughout the years.
08:32With a touching scenario and simple, somber piano music, the commercial really resonated
08:36with its audience, especially as the story was based on that of the grandfather of a
08:41Google employee, whose voice is heard throughout the ad.
08:543.
08:58Michael Cera's CeraVe – CeraVe
09:08One of the acting world's most underrated comedy talents, Cera was bound to be a success
09:13with whatever Super Bowl commercial he starred in.
09:14However, to make it even more special, he was paired with the similarly named company
09:19CeraVe.
09:26Parodying pretentious luxury brand advertisements, Cera implies he created the skincare company
09:31as he gives himself a massage, walks through thin sheets, and chats to a unicorn dolphin.
09:41By the end, we see the actor is showcasing the commercial to the CeraVe board, who aren't
09:46too pleased he's claiming credit for something he wasn't involved in.
09:50The L'Oreal-owned brand has quickly become one of the best-selling skincare companies,
09:54which this Cera ad may or may not have had a role in.
09:572.
10:04The Jason Alexander Hoodie – Tide
10:13In 2021, with a brief video, Seinfeld star Alexander looks at a ridiculous hoodie of
10:19his face being sold online.
10:21This was all to tease what was to come at the Super Bowl from Tide.
10:28In the main event, a mother tells her son to wash his Jason Alexander hoodie.
10:32After he states it looks clean and she doubts that assessment, we see the apparel getting
10:36into a host of gross situations.
10:47Throughout it, the face on the hoodie changes to match the situation.
10:51The actor even cameos as himself at the end as he demands his face back.
11:01To make the expressions, Alexander had to take hundreds of photos as the director gave
11:06orders on Zoom due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

11:27Breaking Snacks – Popcorners
11:29Since the acclaimed series ended in 2013, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul have reprised
11:34their iconic Breaking Bad roles of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman in the film El Camino,
11:38on Better Call Saul, and in a 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Popcorners.
11:43The duo recreates some of the series' iconic scenes and catchphrases.
11:58But instead of making their trademark illegal substance in the motorhome, the science duo
12:01creates corn chips.
12:11The ad even brought back Raymond Cruz to produce even more outstanding work as the
12:15unhinged, tight, tight, tight crime lord Tuco Salamanca.
12:19While Paul has claimed this would be the last Breaking Bad team-up with Cranston, who knows
12:23what snack brand might entice them back for another Super Bowl commercial in the future?
12:33Are there any Super Bowl commercials that we missed that you think deserve a spot in
12:36this video?
12:37Like Jeep's 2020 Groundhog Day with Bill Murray?
12:40Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd reminiscing about Lay's chips in 2022?
12:44Or something else?
