Prince William has paid a visit to a bereavement charity where he spoke to teenagers about dealing with bereavement. The charity has close links to William's mother Diana as Julia Samuel, the charity’s founding patron, was a great friend of the late princess's.

00:00It means we can do one session, and we can have people from Guernsey and people from Glasgow come to the same session.
00:25But then we're also able to offer an organisational package, and we can come to them to train people to lead the organisation.
00:32So it's a little bit of both.
00:34Nicola, what training and what techniques and coping mechanisms do you find sort of help the team the most deal with some of the trickiest situations?
00:44I mean, honestly, I think it's this board, kind of.
00:46We have a huge focus on self-care for children and young people as well.
00:50Self-care menus, self-care first aid kits, things like that.
00:53We practise what we preach, basically.
00:55Yeah, it's quite important, isn't it?
00:57And we train that to perfection.
00:59And Lynne, Alison and Nicola, your experiences of looking after families and things like that, what do you bring, particularly Nicola, Alison or Lynne, to that?
01:07Well, mine's a different role.
01:09Which is crucial, because when you talk to a friend about stuff, you know the other person.
01:12I've always said this about counselling, it's very important, the fact that you feel there's a bond, there's a bit of understanding with each other.
01:19It's not necessarily too clinical, which is the case if I'm a practitioner and you're a patient.
01:24So it's interesting you share that as well.
01:26Yeah, and it's not pushing as well.
01:28You know, if we are asking questions and they're not ready to share, it's saying that, you know, don't feel pressured.
01:34Football team, the support.
01:35Yeah, exactly.
01:36Slowly but surely, over that time, you know, so you don't have to build that reply in one hour, do you?
01:40It takes time.
01:42Well done, you guys.
01:43It's a tricky job, but you're very good at it.
01:48Nice to see you.
01:49I've been talking a lot about your boxing tactics.
01:52Is he coaching you?
01:53Yeah.
01:54How long has that been going on?
01:55A decade, ten years.
01:56Has it really?
01:57Yeah.
01:58Fantastic.
01:59And you love him?
02:00Yeah.
02:01Is he your main focus in the sport?
02:02Yeah.
02:03What level are you up to in your journey?
02:05Currently I'm amateur.
02:07Once, obviously, Tommy's situation occurred, Tommy got involved, and then me being such a big part of the boxing club,
02:15it being so important for him, I joined in with him, thought, let's help you, because it means so much to me,
02:22I might as well do that for you as well, as it means so much.
02:26And then I can see that it means a lot to others as well.
02:29I'm going to keep up.
02:30I was like, OK, Tommy, here we go.
02:32You like a bit of boxing as well, though?
02:33No.
02:34As in, like, you don't mind throwing a few punches around in the boxing, you know?
02:38But not at your level.
02:42It's exhausting as well.
02:44After that half an hour, you know, panning away, your arms are actually dead.
02:47I leave it to young boys like you, Ketan.
02:5079, nice to meet you.
02:51Steve, nice to meet you.
02:53So, yeah, fundraising, part of the fundraising team.
02:55So Steve's been volunteering now for about 11 years, and over that time...
03:00Years, yeah.
03:01Do you want to talk about what you do, Beryl?
03:03I'm in the family unit, and that's where the families come together.
03:08And we're 10.
03:09We're 11 this year.
03:11We're 31 as a charity this year.
03:1331 years old.
03:14And this service in the north is 11 this year.
03:16Yeah, it's blown by, really.
03:18And most people who speak to us say, we wish you existed when we were young.
03:22Particularly some of the older people, because there wasn't even witness in this area in the north.
03:26And now it's the busiest, isn't it?
03:27In the north.
03:28It is the busiest, yeah.
03:29It's just sounded as if I was out there.
03:31That's the thing.
03:34And it's going to get more and more.
03:35And the thing is, the more we get you guys out and about in your name, the more people are going to want to see you.
03:40So it's kind of, it's a catch-22 sometimes around how you manage it.
03:43So I'll be worried about the waiting myself.
03:47My problem is they've got a lot too much.
03:49That's the problem, is that you're just a mess.
03:52You're such an enormous part of communities now, of families.
03:55You're a lifeline for many families in a very dark, lonely place.
03:59So it's great you guys give so much of your time up, and that's a crucial thing.
04:04And if Tommy gets in the way, you'll be raising money for him.
04:08The man is a one machine fundraiser.
04:11He's convinced Clayton will be a world champion as well, isn't he?
04:13Yeah.
04:14Next time we meet you, it'll be for a nightclub.
04:20All right.
04:21Well done to all of you.
04:22And thank you for being here and sharing this.
04:24It's fantastic.
04:26And all the jobs.
04:27Appreciate it.
04:28Thank you very much.
04:33Before you leave, we really wanted to share this with you.
04:36So this is our Before I Die wall.
04:38It's a global project that we found out about, and we're really keen to replicate it.
04:45Kill all Fortnite bosses.
04:48Luke is definitely going to be like, we're the Fortnite crash party.
04:52Very important Fortnite ones on there.
04:53Some really funny ones.
04:57I want to see a parachute jump.
05:00And again, this is our waiting area.
05:02People can...
05:07There we go.
05:09Thank you so much.
05:10No, lovely to see you all.
05:12And obviously you're doing such a terrific job.
05:14And we'll talk about how we expand to Wales at some point.
05:16I see a few more donors we can bring in to help make it possible.
05:20So, love the coverage side of it.
05:22But we need to get to Wales as well.
05:24But please thank everyone for all the time.
05:26And Tommy as well.
05:28It's great.
05:29So, look out for Tommy.
05:31Lovely to meet you.
05:33Bye.
05:34Bye.
05:35Bye.
05:36Bye.
05:37Bye.
