00:00Live on Radio Row with Sports Grid out here in New Orleans. Kevin Walsh, I'm with Tampa Bay Bucs running back Rashad White.
00:06As we get set for another Super Bowl here. Rashad, you know, these are two teams when we think about Philadelphia and Kansas City.
00:15You guys went up against this season. Yeah. And you kind of smashed the Eagles actually.
00:21And Kansas City was a super close game. You lose in overtime. You didn't get the football.
00:26And that was, I feel like, the peak of when you guys were dealing with so many of your injuries there.
00:29I'm curious from your own guys' perspective. Because you also had to win against the Detroit Lions.
00:33You think about teams that were viewed in the upper echelon. You guys always played them so tough and grabbed a couple of games off those teams.
00:41Yeah. Man, it's a good, interesting week. I mean, got a rematch. Got a revenge game that could possibly take place.
00:51And yeah, you've got some teams that we were fortunate enough to go against.
00:55And yeah, like you said, beat one, lost one. You know, the Lions, I'm not here to gloat and stuff like that, though.
01:02But yeah, man. But I think for you, you know, Tampa Bay and I'm sure you guys hear kind of what the expectations are.
01:10Yeah. Despite winning the division multiple times, they're like, we don't know about the Bucs this year.
01:14And I know you guys wanted more in the postseason this year. I understand that.
01:17But do you feel that you guys can? Like, you are a top contender.
01:22Again, maybe it didn't break right this year, but you guys are right there from breaking through and making a super deep postseason run.
01:28Yeah. I'll say, yeah, for sure. I believe that we, you know, be a couple of plays away every time.
01:34Sometimes we don't come out on that end. And that's life. That's football.
01:38But all we can kind of do is go back to the drawing board and everybody focus on what they got to do in their job.
01:45And then we come together, make sure we on the same page collectively and make another crack at it.
01:50But yes, in the building, the locker room and the guys, how we feel about it. Yes, we believe we got enough talent.
01:56I mean, I don't know. Yeah. Experts feel about Tampa. I don't know.
01:59I just feel like they've been liking Tampa until Brady got there.
02:02And then they didn't really like him after Brady got there, like after Brady left and retired.
02:07But yeah, I mean, you look at rooms or just like stats or whatever you want to look at, like positions.
02:14I think we match up with a lot of people very well. Yeah, I think that that's fair to say.
02:17I'm curious for you, the year to year change from Canales, you guys have offensive coordinator to Cohen.
02:24How different was did you feel the offense was because results wise?
02:29I mean, I think you could make an argument. It was even better because there was a lot of people wondering,
02:34how would you guys handle the adjustment? You know, all right, we lose out on some continuity.
02:38What were the differences that you noticed playing with Cohen as your OC this year?
02:42So, yeah, I mean, I always tip my hat off to Liam, man. And what he did came in very creative, innovative offense.
02:49It was still a West Coast offense, but, you know, obviously he had his own little wrinkles that he threw to it.
02:54You got to give a lot of credit to the staff of like Jason, the guys up front, our GM and things like that,
03:01obviously driving the center like Graham and putting the linemen in place,
03:06the pieces in place in order to get what we got.
03:10I think we've always been good at passing, obviously, since I've been there.
03:13Well, I'm going on my fourth year now, but I think they did a great job of helping us establish a run game, something different.
03:19But I also give a lot of credit to like our line, our players, our wide receivers, guys that block down the field.
03:25And then you got to give credit to like, you know, our running back room.
03:27You know, I think we did a great job. Me, Bucky, Sean and just like that.
03:31Like, you know, making plays, you know, when our number was called.
03:37I'm just curious if you're looking around the league now and some players are taking some things into their own hands.
03:45We saw Myles Garrett request a trade, right?
03:47Sometimes, you know, people call it, it's a business, right?
03:51Cooper Cupp the other day said it like, the Rams are going to trade me.
03:54I don't want to go. It's what it's going to be.
03:56Is that something that you're taking notice of and thinking about maybe that you have more options than guys used to have around the league?
04:05So, yeah, I mean, you see you got options, you got things like that.
04:09Have I really? No, I think because everybody's situation is different.
04:13Everybody at a different point in a career, different time, you know, so you just kind of look at it.
04:18I like to look at things logically, understanding the business.
04:21But I like to obviously to understand kind of the person, you know, what they have accomplished, what they got going for themselves.
04:27So, like, you look at that, you respect, you know, that Myles Garrett trade.
04:32Obviously, you want to win, want to play on a bigger stage.
04:34You know, I'm saying you want to have that type of impact.
04:36I mean, you know, you already won defense player of the year, just like that.
04:39So I look at like situations and things like that.
04:41And for account, I also look at the running back position in the league anyway.
04:44Like, yeah, you got Saquon. Yeah, just like that.
04:46But Kenneth Gainwell still, you know, he spells Saquon.
04:49You know, he you know, the running back position in the league is one to punch, obviously.
04:55So they could cut down the numbers of paying guys, which is respect, obviously, to like, no disrespect.
05:00A lot of guys can't play all three downs.
05:03And, yeah, bodies hold up.
05:05So it's a great thing about it.
05:07But I think that's interesting, though, Rashawn, because you know that you can play all three downs.
05:11Oh, yeah, for sure. Right. I know that you know that. Right.
05:13I saw the healthy, you know, the thousand thousand season.
05:17Right. If things kind of break. Right.
05:20So do you feel that within the running back position, you're going to start to see maybe things change a little bit, though?
05:26Maybe they some teams are more willing to embrace a full three down back because they see what happens
05:32when you have a player that that is that special and can handle that type of workload.
05:35Yeah. Yeah. I mean, obviously you're interested.
05:38I mean, obviously you see, you know, a team will obviously be willing to do that.
05:42But at the same time, you know, understand the business, understand the position that you are.
05:48You just got to make the most of it. So, you know, right now I'm just enjoying Tampa, man.
05:52I'm loving it. I'm just having fun. Yeah. All right. That's awesome.
05:56Well, Rashawn White, I mean, we got into it a little bit here.
05:59You hit it, man. Out here on sports. Great. Best of luck with everything.
06:02Thank you. I appreciate it. Yeah, you got it.
