00:18So, you might have heard some news this week, but I realize you haven't heard from me.
00:22She went on to describe the backstory of how the reboot first started.
00:25Three years ago, I got a call from my dear friend and mentor Gail Berman. She told me
00:30that she wanted me to sit down with Chloe Zhao to hear her take on a potential Buffy revival.
00:34I was blown away that Chloe even knew who I was. But as I've always done,
00:38I told Gail that I just didn't see a way for the show to exist again.
00:42She continued,
00:43We'd always been aligned on that, but this time I heard something different in her voice.
00:47I eventually agreed to go, mainly just to meet Chloe, and our 20-minute coffee quickly turned
00:52into a four-hour adventure. We laughed, we cried, but mostly we both talked about how
00:57much this show means to us. The actress said she didn't agree to anything in that meeting.
01:01However, she warmed up to it by having more conversations and landed on an idea with her team
01:06and writers Nora and Lila Zuckerman. She wrote,
01:09I have always listened to the fans and heard your desire to revisit Buffy and her world,
01:13but it was not something I could do unless I was sure we would get it right.
01:17This has been a long process and it's not over yet. I promise you we will only make
01:21this show if we know we can do it right. And I will tell you that we are on the path there.
01:26The fan-favorite Vampire Slayer ended the post by saying,
01:29Thank you to all the fans who never stopped asking for this. This will be for you.
