00:00It's a shame that the balotas are expected to be disposed of by the Comelec today,

00:05where the commission assured that it will not be used by others as a hindrance to the upcoming election.

00:13Aisayah Mira Fuentes is the center of the news.

00:18It's expected that today, the trimming or part of the balotas will not be used in the election of 2025.

00:25These are the balotas that were first printed by the Comelec before the Supreme Court's decision

00:30that there are additional names that will be added to the balotas.

00:34January 17, the transfer of unused balotas from the National Printing Office

00:42to the Comelec Warehouse in Santa Rosa, Laguna, will begin.

00:45This was witnessed by the Comelec Spokesperson Rex Laudianco at the National Printing Office

00:50the arrangement of the transfer of balotas here in Laguna.

00:55Every day, one to two trucks are transported by the Comelec to transfer balotas

01:00that can hold up to three tons of for-disposal balotas.

01:04The balotas that will be disposed of will undergo physical checking.

01:08Balotas must be machine-readable,

01:11especially good balotas that will be paid by the Comelec in Meru.

01:15These for-disposal balotas will be placed under a paper recycling melting process.

01:20According to the rules and procedure of the National Archives of the Philippines,

01:24balotas must be safely kept by the Comelec

01:27and must not be touched by anyone

01:29as long as it is not used in the future.

01:34The Comelec's role in disposing of unused balotas

01:37will be observed by the National Archives of the Philippines

01:40and NAMFRIL, LENTE, PPCRV, and the Audit Commission

01:45to ensure that the disposal of balotas is in the right process.

01:50the Comelec wasted six million official balotas

01:54for the upcoming election of 2025

01:56because the Supreme Court ordered the Commission

01:59to add the name of Zubair Mustafa

02:02to the list of senatorial candidates for balotas.
