00:00Authorities are in Bat, the biggest drug haul since the start of 2025.
00:05This is after more than 2 billion shabu was caught from Pakistan and transported to the country.
00:13This is Bernard Perez for Sandro of Balita.
00:17Successfully, authorities in Manila South Harbor blocked a container shipment from Karachi, Pakistan
00:24that contains more than 400 kilos of shabu, equivalent to 2.7 billion pesos this January.
00:29This is the biggest drug bust this year.
00:32With the help of information from foreign counterparts,
00:35the NBI Dangerous Drugs Division, Organized and Transnational Crime Division, PDEA and BOC
00:44immediately mobilized their forces in consultation with the Department of Justice
00:46in order to stop and start the so-called shipment.
00:49In the joint operation, we called it Operation Stonewall,
00:54our effort was successful.
00:58We caught 404 plus kilos of shabu, worth 2.7 billion pesos.
01:09And because of the cooperation of the Bureau of Customs of PDEA,
01:17our effort materialized.
01:20The shipment was declared to contain vermicelli noodles and custards,
01:25but fortunately, the illegal drug was discovered.
01:28According to the authorities, the suspects used what is called multiple layering
01:31or layers of documentation in order to hide the illegal drug in the legitimate cargo.
01:37The suspects were brought to the Department of Justice for inquest proceedings
01:41in the case of violation of Section 4 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
01:47At present, the case is in court and the trial is expected to begin.
01:52The DOJ promised that they will implement a strategy to prevent illegal drugs from entering the country.
