00:08President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. gave recognition to the important duty of the DSWD

00:15so that the livelihood of many Filipinos will be better.

00:20In his visit to the 74th anniversary of the DSWD,

00:26President R. Marcos gave recognition to the important program of the DSWD,

00:29including the 4Peace, where 4 million Filipinos were helped last year.

00:37Aside from this, the Sustainable Livelihood Program

00:40and the fast development of the DSWD in times of calamity.

00:45At the same time, President R. Marcos called for unity

00:49for a stronger new Philippines.

00:54To my fellow Filipinos,

00:56the success of these programs does not rest on the shoulders of the DSWD alone.

01:01It requires our collective determination, support, and our effort.

01:06Let us build a Bagong Pilipinas,

01:22The OFW remittances in the Philippines in December 2024 were recorded at a record high.

01:30According to the Central Bank of the Philippines,

01:33the personal remittances to our fellow Filipinos in 2024 reached 38.34 billion US dollars.

01:43This is 3% higher than the 37.21 billion US dollars recorded in 2023, according to the BSP.

01:53Most of those who sent remittances came from the United States,

01:58Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.

02:04In other news, Senate Minority Leader Coco Pimentel

02:08appealed to Senate President Chis Escudero to continue the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

02:16On behalf of the Senator, she issued a Constitutional Mandate

02:20that states that the Senate should move forth with or immediately.

02:26Senator Pimentel gave the importance of the immediate action of the Senate

02:30and their duty to follow the Constitution without delay.
