00:00The poll body will crack the whip harder on voters or those who engage in buying votes

00:05or peddling them.

00:06Either one buys or shops his or her vote around for cash, the poll body will hold all of them

00:12into account.

00:13Even worse, for those who engage in such acts, the poll body has deputized law enforcers

00:19to nab suspects they catch without any court-issued warrant.

00:23And getting thrown in jail for being caught may even extend to more time inside the slammer

00:29should the poll body file cases against wrongdoers that stick or are upheld by a court of law.

00:36And just to send a stern message across, the poll body is partnering with the Department

00:40of Justice, the Philippine National Police and other law enforcement group in its crusade

00:46to put an end to the scourge of vote-buying and peddling during the country's democratic

00:51exercises.

00:53It's enough for us to put our own people in jail for a few hours or even bail them out.

01:01It's okay for us.

01:02But the important thing is, if it is a warrantless arrest, there is a procedure.

01:07All the cases in our law department will be filed.

01:11Or we can seek the continuing deputation of the DOJ, we can seek the help of the DOJ

01:18so that the prosecution will be quick.

01:21We are quick.

01:22If someone complains, the chair said time and again, if they can't do it, we will file

01:27a motoprofile on our own or we are going to pursue it.

01:30It's not going to stop at just submitting your complaint.

01:35The law enforcement agencies, whether it be the PNP or the NBI, will help the prosecutors

01:41to strengthen our cases.

01:44And because of the agreement of COVELEC and DOJ, we have a referral pathway where the

01:53prosecutors are very open to receive evidence.

01:56You can see that the PNP is very strict.

01:59We will not allow vote-buying.
