00:00Malaysian exporters must take care to meet the detailed specification in recent tariffs imposed by the United States on several countries, says the ambassador to the U.S. Nazri Aziz.

00:13He said the U.S. authorities were very detailed and would be able to identify and trace products made in China that are shipped to the U.S.

00:23Nazri said Malaysian companies must be prepared for the tariffs as it was something that U.S. President Donald Trump had talked about since 2020.

00:33On January 20, the Trump administration imposed tariffs on goods exported from Mexico, Canada, and China.

00:41Nazri said investment and trade promotion officials were in touch with the Malaysian companies to guide them on the tariffs, and the Investment and Trade Ministry was also in touch with U.S. firms based in Malaysia.

00:54On Thursday, Investment and Trade Minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz said there was a minimal negative impact on Malaysia's semiconductor exports to the U.S. as Malaysia was excluded from the recent U.S. tariffs imposed on several countries.
