00:00A defensive performance for the ages last night by the NFL's best offensive unit all season long in the National Football League on the most monumental of stages in the most significant of matchups in a Super Bowl by the Eagles absolutely getting the better of Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and that Chiefs offense and not just bowing up Donnie when it mattered most, but having an answer to any potential question that you might have.
00:30Chiefs might ask in making Kansas City look like they were absolutely out at sea and lost the entirety of the football game.
00:39Three total turnovers forced by Philadelphia resulting directly in 17 points, including a pick six interception return touchdown by the rookie celebrating his 22nd birthday.
00:54Cooper Dejean and Zach Bond, who was largely a castaway and a specials teamer to open up his NFL career in New Orleans.
01:02His first year as a starter full time in the NFL.
01:06He's an all pro performer and has an interception late in the opening half against the Chiefs that resulted in a touchdown to AJ Brown just a few seconds later.
01:17And at that point, Donnie, good night, New Orleans.
01:20The Eagles led 24 to zip at the break, a single point shy of matching the largest halftime lead in Super Bowl history.
01:30Forty to six. This game was Ben with a couple minutes left in the game.
01:34Let's understand how we got to that point, too, because if you're looking at the way things need to happen, you don't want to give the other team life.
01:41Hey, they got great starting field position at the 40 yard line or the 50 yard line.
01:44Every time the Eagles made a mistake, which was rare, Jalen Hurts interception.
01:47Where did that ball end up at the two yard line?
01:49You know what the defense did three and up the Kansas City Chiefs right before the half.
01:53Oh, no, I really wanted the Eagles to get that third and three.
01:56They punt the ball inside the 10 yard line.
01:58What happens next, Ben? Interception.
02:00So you're putting the Chiefs in a high leverage situations where they must produce just to get out of their own end zone.
02:06And then what were they going to do? Drive 80 plus 90 plus yards just to get a field goal.
02:10They weren't able to do that.
02:12So the Eagles defense was dialing up the exact play calls that you needed.
02:15And also understand this. We've learned this in the past before.
02:18You watch the New York Giants rattle Tom Brady by rushing for rushers and saying we have to drop back everybody and make plays.
02:25It's very rare that you see a non blitzing situation where Patrick Mahomes just doesn't stand comfortably in the pocket.
02:31They have the perfect play call here against his own or man defense.
02:34That didn't happen. He was rushed the entire performance.
02:37Something we don't usually see a rattle Mahomes, which led to turnover after turnover after turnover.
02:43It's amazing how much when you snap the football as a quarterback and you're immediately thinking about the pass rush, as opposed to saying, let me wait on this route for a couple guys to clear.
02:52There were some plays to be made by the Kansas City Chiefs.
02:54If you remember Hopkins on a wide open crossing route earlier in that game, when they were only down, let's just say two scores, dropping that football, which forced upon as opposed to a 30 or 40 yard gain.
03:05All the plays were made by the Philadelphia Eagles defense, just not enough plays until late for Kansas City.
03:10And it all stems from that front four that I talked about so many times in the Super Bowl.
03:15Two years ago, the Eagles had one of the best sack defense in the history of football by organic pass rush by four.
03:21It was an ice skating rink. Mahomes did whatever he wanted because he wasn't touched here.
03:25Fast forward to this year on turf.
03:27You let a nasty defensive line go up against an average offensive line and you saw the results.
03:32That was supposed to happen two years ago. The Eagles made it right in Super Bowl fifty nine.
