Camel milk could become the latest health fad in the UAE and the region.
Transcript
00:00We breed special milk camels on the farm.
00:14That means we start like we did with cows 50 years ago.
00:19Proper milk camel, proper adder with proper teats to get a good automatic milking machine.
00:27And this is what we want to try over the next years.
00:30This milk is, I think, better than cow milk because first of all, less fat.
00:37Cow milk has about 4%, 4.5% fat.
00:41These camels give 2% fat.
00:44Second thing is the milk is 5 times higher in vitamin C than cow milk.
00:58Chocolate is a big business in the region.
01:01Chocolatiers are coming out with novel ideas to sell their product.
01:04So what about camel milk chocolate?
01:07The camel milk, the main source of our chocolate, is produced here in Dubai, manufactured.
01:13And this is what we need.
01:14It's the only place in the world where you can get a camel milk in this quality that
01:16we need to produce a high class luxury chocolate.
01:19It has the finest ingredients inside and it's a rare commodity and it's for the discerning
01:24client who likes this little extra luxury in the day.
01:30So this is it.
01:31The manufacturers say this is one of the finest chocolates they have ever made.
01:36I'm going to try one.
01:41I need to take one more bite.
01:46I think it's an acquired taste.
01:51Our future goal is, and this will take some generation, to breed milking camels with a
01:58unique udder.
01:59Yes, but this will take some time, maybe 10 years, 15 years.
02:04And an animal which produces 30, 40 liters per day.
02:08This is our aim.
02:11This is where it all starts, right here at the farm.
02:15Camel milk could be more than just a gimmick.
02:17It could mean the start of large scale production.
