00:00I really wanted to do, I wanted to produce because I wanted to have faith in the content
00:24that it's coming out from me, either as an actor or a producer.
00:29So that was a natural progression, I wanted to do it and I want, I know, with the kind
00:35of films I want to produce, I know I will be one of the most effective producers in

00:42You know, Shujit, the director of Ekidona and me were discussing a film that we're
00:45eventually going to do starting in October.
00:48It's a film called Jafna and we've been discussing this film for about three years
00:53now and in the midst of that, we chanced upon the subject, I read it and Shujit told
00:59me, John, it's on sperm donation and then when I read the script, I found it like any
01:05other Hindi entertaining commercial film.
01:08It's a commercial film at the heart of it.
01:10It's a rom-com and it's about a Punjabi boy and a Bengali girl like you see here.
01:15Great film and we skim upon the topic of sperm donation and of course there have been questions
01:21based on that I'm sure by the press but Shujit Sarkar has handled the issue with a lot of
01:28credibility and a lot of responsibility.

01:52I just think it's me being smart about selecting a great first film to present my production
01:58company with.
02:00After you watch this and you see in terms of casting, if you see what Ayushman has done
02:04in the film and Anu Kapoor who plays Dr. Chhatta has done in the film and Yami looks extremely
02:08lovely and she is great in this film.
02:12You know, you only validate my point that this is the perfect first production to start
02:16my career off with as a producer.
02:18I want to test the waters as a producer and I want to be sure that I am effective as a
02:24producer and I want to support content.
02:28I want content to be the king and that's what's going to happen out of J Entertainment.
02:32J Entertainment as a production house is going to create films where content is the hero
02:36of the film.
02:38So tomorrow when you go and watch a J Entertainment film, you realize that no, it's a John Abraham
02:42film, it has to be different.
02:44There has to be something special about this and that's what I want to give to my audience.
02:48But I'm very clear that I want to marry content with commerce.
02:50So my films are going to be commercial.
02:52They're not going to be documentaries.
02:54Maybe there will be an arm in the future that does documentaries but I'm out here to make
02:58commercial films, I'm out here to make money, but I'm out here to entertain people most
03:02importantly.
