00:00Rows of tents covered in sand, children wandering aimlessly, women peeping out to catch a glimpse
00:19of the aid distribution.
00:24These are some of the common sights inside the Zaatari camp located in Mafraq, Jordan.
00:33The camp is home to an estimated 25,000 Syrian refugees who have made a daring escape from
00:40the gunshots and bombings back home.
00:48Their stories echo from every corner of the camp.
00:55Most refused to come on camera for fear of being identified by the Shabiha or the militia
01:00of Al-Assad.
01:02But a few daring souls from the camp and neighbourhoods were willing to share their plight with the
01:07world.
01:08Ali, a refugee, has been living in the camp for over two months with his wife and six
01:13children.
01:19His 10-year-old son Mohamed is a special needs child and needs constant attention.
01:42While aid distribution is underway, the men said that the need of the hour is proper electricity.
01:57Shafaha is 25.
01:59She lives with her five children in one of the neighbourhoods.
02:16The Syrian refugees live and die straight, but that does not stop them from dreaming
02:21that one day everything will be alright and they will be able to return to their home
02:27country and rebuild their lives.
