00:00Equestrian fans are in for a treat at the 2014 Casar Al-Hosn festival in Abu Dhabi as
00:13Cavalia makes its Middle Eastern debut.
00:16With a cast of over 50 highly trained horses and dazzling aerial acrobatics, it aims to
00:21tell the story of the cultural roots of the region.
00:24We met with Wayne Fox, director of Cavalia, to get his take on the show.
00:28The inspiration for the show is the history of Abu Dhabi.
00:31It's the arrival of the pearl divers, the silk road, the arrival of the camel trains,
00:37if you like, the traders, and then the arrival of, if you like, Sheikh Zayed, and from there
00:42his relationship with horses, which then spreads to everybody else, and we try to respect the
00:48culture of Abu Dhabi.
00:49At the moment there are 43 horses in the show, with various breeds ranging from Arabian to
00:54warm blood, quarter horses, Spanish, Portuguese, a huge variety of beautiful horses.
01:03I describe this show as something of beauty, where people can come and experience what
01:08is the relationship between man and horse, what is a horse, what is man alone, and how
01:15they combine to make a beautiful relationship.
01:20The event kicks off on February 22nd, runs until March 1st, and is suitable for all ages.
