00:20were banned by Comelec at the start of the campaign today.

00:24Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia himself

00:27was one of the first to ban illegal campaign posters in Manila.

00:32In Quezon City, a barrier was used to remove the posters

00:36that were not in the right place.

00:38Those attached to the posters were crossed.

00:40The banned campaign posters reached six trucks.

00:44What about the billboards of the candidates in EDSA?

00:49Comelec said that they cannot ban these

00:52because they are on private property.

00:54But the bus passengers were told to talk differently.

00:58The fact that an entity is taking a franchise

01:02because an entity becomes public.

01:05So they cannot claim that they are purely private property.

01:09They are private, that's right.

01:11But the nature of these buses became public.

01:14Campaign materials were also banned

01:16that were not in the common poster area

01:18in Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu,

01:20Iloilo City, and Bacolod City.

01:23The campaign materials of the local candidates were not removed

01:27because their campaign period started on March 28.

01:31But it can be removed by local government units

01:34according to their ordinances.

01:37According to Comelec,

01:39the argument of the opponents of politics

01:42is that the illegal campaign materials are not enough.
