00:12Traffic patrol officers in Dubai have begun using Google Glass to issue fines and record
00:16traffic violations. Colonel Saif Mohair al-Mazroui, Director of Dubai Traffic Police, said the
00:22smart glasses are equipped with a camera and directly linked to the police operations room.
00:27An officer can simply scan the number plate of a car and access all its police records.
00:33Dubai's Al-Shindaga Tunnel, the second oldest crossing on Dubai Creek, is set to be replaced
00:38soon. The iconic tunnel, which is around 40 years old, will be replaced by a multi-lane
00:42bridge in the next few years, an official at the Roads and Transport Authority who was
00:47privy to the plans told Gulf News. The new crossing is likely to have four to six lanes
00:51in each direction.
00:53The leading Tunisian secular party, Nidaa Tunis, has won more than 80 seats in an election
00:59for the new 217-member parliament. The provisional tally for Nidaa Tunis comes against 67 seats
01:05won by Islamist party Al-Nahda, a party source said Monday, citing preliminary ballot counts.
01:11If confirmed, the result would be a setback for Al-Nahda.
01:14The Lebanese army has launched a fierce assault against militants in Tripoli, forcing a retreat
01:19from the old city on a third day of fighting. The battle has now shifted to a Sunni neighborhood
01:23where the army is using tanks and armored vehicles. At least five soldiers and two civilians
01:28have died in the fighting.
01:30Leftist President Dilma Rousseff vowed to reconcile Brazil, reboot the economy, and
01:35fight corruption after narrowly winning re-election Sunday. Rousseff, the first woman president

01:50South Africa's football captain and goalkeeper Senzo Maiwa was shot dead late Sunday near
01:55Johannesburg, a police spokesman said. Maiwa, 27, was gunned down at a house in Foslouras,
02:01a township about 30 kilometers south of the city, and declared dead on admission to hospital.
02:07Premier League leader Chelsea dropped points for the second time this season by conceding
02:11a last-gasp equalizer at Manchester United. Chelsea was on the verge of moving eight
02:16points clear of Manchester City when Robin Van Persie scored in the fourth minute of
02:20injury time in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
