00:11Five people were killed and four wounded when two Palestinians attacked Jewish worshippers
00:15in a synagogue in occupied Jerusalem. The Palestinians were shot and killed on the scene.
00:20The attack comes after a 32-year-old Palestinian man was found dead after being tortured and
00:24hung in a bus in what Palestinians say was premeditated murder at the hands of Israeli
00:29colonists.
00:30The number of deaths from terrorism increased by 61 per cent between 2012 and 2013, a study
00:36says. There were nearly 10,000 terrorist attacks in 2013, a 44 per cent increase from the previous
00:42year, the Global Terrorism Index 2014 report added. Militant groups Daesh, Al-Qaeda, Boko
00:48Haram and the Taliban were behind most of the deaths, according to the report.
00:52India and Australia vowed closer defence and security ties today while stressing the importance
00:56of economic cooperation. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi described warmer relations with
01:01Australia as natural after signing agreements on drug control, social security and tourism,
01:07as well as a new framework on security cooperation.
01:10Missouri's governor has declared a state of emergency ahead of a grand jury decision about
01:14whether a white police officer will be charged in the fatal shooting of an unarmed black
01:20teenager in Ferguson. There is no specific date for a grand jury decision to be revealed
01:24in the case of Michael Brown.
01:27Pakistan's Awami Tahrir has parted ways with Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, the
01:31party chief Tahirul Qadri said today. Addressing a party convention, Qadri said those who were
01:36involved in corruption could not become his party's allies.
01:40Aviation and tourism-related activities will contribute $53.1 billion, or 37.5 per cent,
01:46to Dubai's GDP in 2020. The growth in the aviation sector will also support more than
01:51754,500 jobs, according to the latest Oxford Economics report. In 2013, Emirates Airline,
01:58Dubai Airports and the aviation sector contributed $26.7 billion to Dubai's GDP and supported
02:05a total of 416,500 jobs.
02:09In sport, UAE, who drew their group's second game against Kuwait in Gulf Cup football on
02:13Monday, can still qualify for the semifinals. If the defending champions draw with Iraq
