00:12India's top court has struck down a controversial law that made posting offensive comments online
00:17a crime punishable by up to three years in jail after a long campaign by defenders of
00:22free speech. The Supreme Court said the 2009 amendment to India's Information Technology
00:27Act, known as Section 66A, was unconstitutional and a restriction on freedom of speech.
00:33The United States expects the next Israeli government to end nearly 50 years of occupation
00:39and clear the way for a Palestinian state, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough
00:43told Jewish Americans.
00:45To cheers from the liberal Jewish group J Street, McDonough vowed to safeguard Israel
00:50and criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's abandonment of a Palestinian state
00:55in the run-up to his re-election on March 17.
00:59The Expo 2020 logo design contest has been officially launched. The contest is open
01:04to all UAE residents and citizens. The winning design, which will be announced on October
01:0920, will be seen by millions when the UAE hosts the six-month trade fair in October
01:152020. The contest submission period runs until April 30. Entrants are expected to create
01:22a design that reflects the main theme of the event, Connecting Minds Creating the Future.
01:27Jeremy Clarkson is expected to be told today whether his BBC career is over. Lord Hall,
01:33the BBC Director General, has indicated that he is ready to announce his decision over
01:38the Top Gear presenter's future after reading a report on his fracas with the producer.
01:43If the report concludes that Clarkson did, as has been alleged, punch his colleague Oystein
01:49Tymon in a row over catering arrangements, Lord Hall will have little choice but to sack
01:54one of the BBC's biggest stars. Clarkson was suspended by the BBC exactly two weeks ago
01:59after he reported himself over the incident in a North Yorkshire hotel, having allegedly
02:04been shunned by Tymon when he tried to apologize to him.
