00:00Completion rate has hit 40% in Phase 1 of the Dubai Water Canal project, with works
00:15including excavation and casting of concrete piles for the construction of a bridge on
00:20Sheikh Zayed Road that will cross over the canal waterway.
00:24Phase 1 of the project also includes construction of service roads in the Business Bay area
00:29and the shifting of existing utility lines impacted by the canal course.
00:35Phase 2, currently over 25% complete, will include the construction of bridges on Al
00:40Wasl and Jumeirah Roads over the Dubai Water Canal at a height of 8.5 metres, allowing
00:46yachts to pass underneath.
00:49Completion rate for Phase 3 has so far exceeded 15%, with work currently underway to complete
00:54the protection of utility lines and the shifting of sewage lines on both sides of the canal
01:00Phase 3 will also include digging the water canal, building the canal sides and constructing
01:05three pedestrian bridges linking the two sides of the canal.
01:08When complete, the Dubai Water Canal project will have created a 3-kilometre-long waterway
01:13connecting the Business Bay Canal with the Arabian Gulf.
