00:00Pakistan's very own Super League and the event is on the 4th in the stadium and I've been
00:18given the honour to perform at the opening ceremony and close it before the match starts.
00:25I've also written and composed the main PSL anthem and been chosen as an ambassador for it.
00:32Plus I also have my own team which is Islamabad United.
00:37So there's a lot of excitement and especially being a cricket fan.
00:42As a child I wanted to be a cricketer and then later went the other way into singing and all that.
00:51But that sportsman, that passion, that cricket love is still inside and I think
00:56that manifestation is happening now which is excellent.
01:03Well yes, IPL has been a very successful venture and definitely with Pakistan coming into its own league
01:11and starting it in an international platform as Dubai wins the national players and all that.
01:17The idea is to create that kind of hype and excitement.
01:21It may take a few years because obviously this is just the first year and eventually then take it to Pakistan.
01:33The spirit is that everybody is coming together, all these big stars and cricketers and entertainment
01:38and sports coming together to sing sports, to sing cricket, to play cricket, to give entertainment to people
01:48and with some thrilling, exciting games.
02:08Shroud ke shor mein, ab poore zor mein, tu zameen ko hila de aaj.
02:15Girte, uchalte, thoda sambhalte, ab khel ke dikha de aaj.
02:392020 format is very friendly, conducive to even non-cricket fans because the game gets over very soon.
02:48It's not 50 overs and it's thrilling because the batsmen are going for it.
02:52They're hitting sixes and fours and boundaries and all of that so it's very thrilling.
02:59World Cup 92, World Cup that we won, that's the fondest cricket memory.
03:04And who's your favourite star during that match? I still remember that one.
03:08Imran Khan, like all of us, idolised him as a child.
03:12Then Waseem Akram and Waseem bhai, he's also our coach and mentor for the Islamabad United.
03:18So it's a big honour to know that people that you grow up watching and idolising,
03:23you're finally getting to share that same stage with them.
03:28I believe in that power of dreams coming true and the manifestation of things.
03:34And if I'm not playing inside the ground, then I have my team playing there.
03:44I used to play cricket on the ground and my family had to shift from that place
03:48because we couldn't afford living there anymore and we had to shift somewhere else.
03:52Then I had to start working at a very young age and my talent was my painting and art.
03:57And then I stepped out to start painting and I couldn't stay connected with playing.
04:04I'm an all-rounder but primarily I think that I would be a batsman first.
04:10There's nothing like that feeling that you get being in the stadium,
04:13people are watching and you're hitting boundaries. It's just another feeling.
