Welcome to learning cricket with the uber-awesome Herschelle Gibbs.
Today, we dive in depth into the forward defence or the front foot defence shot.
Start by marking your stance on or around the middle and the off stump.
As you face the delivery, ensure your front foot is placed forward and down the wicket.
Placing your front foot diagonally can compromise your forward defence shot technique.
Ensure you reduce the gap between your front foot and the bat as much as possible.
You really don’t want the ball to go in between the bat and pad.
For the forward defence, make sure your back foot is firmly planted on the crease.
