00:00The goal of this Intergroup is to have an integrated approach on brain health.
00:11OneBrain precisely for this.
00:14The possibility to make a series of experiences dialogue,
00:17to turn on focus on a series of aspects
00:20and to have a reduction in units of all the experiences
00:24that there are on this matter, on this topic.
00:27We are aware of how impactful the brain diseases are,
00:34of how much part of society they involve,
00:37from patients to relatives, to scientific societies,
00:40to scientific research and to the national health system.
00:45We wanted to give a contribution that was an operational contribution,
00:49also of coordination,
00:51a contribution that starts from the dialogue with patient associations,
00:56with scientific societies,
00:59and that from this dialogue then draws concrete results.
01:03There are a series of experiences, of Intergroups,
01:06that address all the complex aspects of brain health.
01:11We also needed a work of coordination between the various aspects
01:14and for this reason this Intergroup was born,
01:17which not only looks at the neurological aspect,
01:20but also at the psychiatric, psychological aspect,
01:23understanding that they must be faced in a certain way.
01:28The challenge is OneHealth, the challenge is OneBrain for all of us.
01:32I think that things go hand in hand,
01:34because in the end politics is also an amplifier of what society is.
01:38The need for overcoming stigma has become important for everyone,
01:43it has become a priority for those who do politics,
01:47and to help overcome this stigma,
01:50there is a need for a series of initiatives,
01:52which is not only to turn on the reflectors,
01:55but also to put in crisis a way of doing things,
01:59which has been there for many years,
02:01to make a real change.
02:03So we need to talk about it, we need to make it understood,
02:06we need to act, we need to intervene,
02:09because the real change is made only in this way.
02:12If we remain closed in the rooms talking to each other,
02:15we do not get any results,
02:17we do not achieve what are perhaps the best goals.
02:22To achieve a goal,
02:24we need to move on to the operational phase.
02:27The operational phase is to go on the field,
02:30to adopt effective regulatory solutions,
02:33but on the other hand to talk, to confront,
02:35to make it clear what certain pathologies mean,
02:38how much they impact on a society,
02:41what they mean for the patient,
02:43what they mean for the families of the patients,
02:46and how we can make the change.
02:48Today, in this press conference,
02:50we talked about a very important aspect,
02:52which is social integration,
02:54in addition to the health one,
02:56but also the need for a working integration,
02:59for the respect of the dignity of the person,
03:02and because to overcome this stigma,
03:04there is also a need to be able to work effectively
03:08with people who have mental disorders.
03:10There are many things we will do.
03:12We have a series of initiatives in the program,
03:15very much in contact with young people,
03:17very much in contact with schools,
03:19a lot to try to, on the one hand,
03:21sensitize, but also to modify behaviors,
03:24but not only in terms of acceptance,
03:27but in terms of collaboration.
03:30We have the idea that everything we can achieve
03:33as a political party is born through
03:35an absolutely necessary synergy.
03:38We must also make a change in habits,
03:41in lifestyles.
03:43And to do this, we need collaboration.
03:46We need our voices not to remain isolated,
03:48but to find a counter-altar.
03:50We need the voices that come from outside
03:53to enter these rooms,
03:55having an operational solution at hand.
03:58These are hands that join together
04:02to try to give the best possible solutions.
04:06We expect devastating data in the years to come.
04:10In 2050, there will be a projection
04:13in which neurological pathologies
04:15will have disconcerting numbers.
04:17If we don't prepare now,
04:19if we don't adopt all the necessary measures
04:22to deal with this wave,
04:24we won't be ready.
04:26And we can't afford it.
04:28We can't afford it as a political party,
04:30but above all, we can't let the citizens
04:32pay prices that don't depend on them.
