00:00Well, our coverage this morning continues right now with storm chaser Aaron J. Jack.
00:03He joins us live from Washington, D.C. with an update, and Aaron, you were talking about
00:07how roads last night were a mess for a while, but things have improved dramatically once
00:12that snow ended.
00:15Yes, dramatically, and you know, I would say here in the nation's capital, this is one
00:21of the best cleanups I've seen of snow, and they clean up really well here.
00:26In fact, they didn't wait for the storm to stop here in the nation's capital.
00:29They started cleaning up last night while the snow was still falling.
00:34As you mentioned, the streets were quite nasty last night.
00:37This is Constitution Avenue right here, right across the street from the White House, and
00:41as you can see, very clear, very clean here, traffic's moving really well.
00:46Last night, this was a sloppy mess.
00:47I was watching a plow come down this road and shooting a wave of snow as it was clearing
00:53it off, probably five or six feet high, so significant amount of snow fell here in the
00:57nation's capital last night, and it went until well after midnight.
01:01I went to bed at midnight.
01:03That snow was still falling.
01:04It looked like we were around five inches or so around that midnight time frame, so
01:09a significant amount of snow was falling here in the nation's capital.
01:12Right now, we've got cloudy skies, lots of cleanup going on, but also lots of people
01:18out enjoying the snow.
01:19I saw some folks cross-country skiing across the grass here by the Washington Monument.
01:25People out just walking their dogs, and it looks like probably a few people going to
01:30work, but I believe schools have been canceled here in the area, so it's a good day to get
01:34out and enjoy the snows.
01:36It looks like potentially we might get some rain a little bit later today.
01:39It might make things a little nasty in the grassy areas where the snow still exists,
01:43but here in Washington, D.C., the sidewalks, the streets are looking really good this morning.
01:48Back to you guys.
01:49Beautiful covering the trees this morning.
01:52All right, Extreme Storm Chaser Aaron Jajak, thanks for joining us here.
01:55This morning.
