00:00I think we had to take some responsibility.
00:14Looking better than just about everybody at the moment is Olaf Koi.
00:18No challenges at all.
00:20We had a good start in stage one and we knew that this one was another chance for me.
00:25A plan formed, a plan delivered.
00:29Obviously take a second win.
00:31Finally, after 10 years.
00:33Oh, look at this, a powertrain behind him.
00:37That was a piece of glass.
00:39Brilliant, genius at work.
00:41I have no expectations for GC.
00:43The more I do, what I do always is working for my leaders.
00:47It was a great battle with Adam.
00:53Here comes Adam Yates as he got a little bit of aero assist.
00:55Good response, this is brilliant.
00:58Left-hand curve, very gentle it is, but it favours him.
01:01And is he finding space?
01:02Yes, he is.
01:03Oh, David Gaudu is on song here.
01:07He's lived up to the billing and he's delivered.
01:11Brilliant.
01:15That's our samurai.
01:18Well done, guys, well done, well done.
01:20We're already focused on Wednesday because now there's a general to complete, I'd say.
01:26Why not try to win a second stage victory?
01:38The goal is to get on the podium.
01:39So I think the first two places will go to David and Adam.
01:43After that, the third place is a little more open and I hope it will be for me.
01:48It's going to be a big battle for the overall ranking.
01:51The challenge is necessarily to succeed in following Yates,
01:53who is really in good shape for everything.
02:24There'd been a 17-rider breakaway and then all of a sudden it was time to take it on.
02:31The grind down of that breakaway has almost been complete
02:34and UET Memorates are the one controlling matters at the moment.
02:37For us, it's this year, we've done an awful lot of work throughout the day for David Gaudu.
02:41He's now isolated on his own.
02:43Peripatre is also in the frame here.
02:45A few others like Utterbroek holding on.
02:48Adam Yates, though, looking cool as a cucumber, you have to say,
02:51with two kilometers to go.
02:53And Gaudu looks like he's struggling just off the back.
02:56And it's Peripatre and Adam Yates who have pressed the go button up front.
03:00And there goes Gaudu. He's just drifting off at the moment.
03:03Kelly Tempo is way back in.
03:06Well, he's done it before. He wears the red jersey for a very good reason.
03:09But Peripatre is the one that's going on the attack.
03:12Adam Yates not tempted to take the bait just for the time being either.
03:16What a finale.
03:17Well, occasionally this day has indeed defined the general classification.
03:21It's been as narrow as just one second in the past.
03:24That was only a couple of years ago.
03:26Right now, it looks like the gaps are going to be bigger,
03:28and especially back to Gaudu, who is watching his title just run away up the road.
03:33Peripatre looks loosest and possibly the most lucid of all.
03:37A fantastic effort by Gaudu to get himself back in.
03:41Well, the apt response, I guess you might say, would be to kick on straight away.
03:46You've suddenly got an exhausted rider who's made it over.
03:48You don't want to nurse him. You want to punish him.
03:50But Peripatre not tempted to do so.
03:53Neither is Adam Yates at the moment.
03:54And that's because of the inclines we're dealing with.
03:56Talking 14% at the moment.
03:58That is not pleasant on any day.
04:01Flamm Rouge.
04:03And indeed, the attacks are bound to rain down.
04:06Who's got the pace?
04:07Who's got the ace up their sleeve?
04:09Adam Yates thinks he can temper all the way home.
04:12The more explosive man, Peripatre, goes to the barriers.
04:14Can't quite make it stick, but they've dropped Gaudu.
04:17He's gone out the back door and it leaves two diamonds up front.
04:22But who's got those diamonds in their legs?
04:24Let's wait and see.
04:25The road weaves.
04:26Oh, it's a tapestry of delight for Peripatre.
04:30Superb. Look at the kick.
04:32Adam Yates tries to respond, but they're in the barriers
04:34and the gap looks like it might well stick.
04:37Peripatre is making this stick.
04:40This is amazing.
04:42What a performance.
04:44Adam Yates, defending champion, is going to be second here.
04:47But the man out front has won it in fine style.
04:51Peripatre, chapeau.
04:54It was possible to win the GC, so I tried to attack yet.
04:59But I saw that I was not strong enough to make a big gap with him.
05:05Happy to be at this level and happy to fight for a win.
05:09It's good signs for the future and I'm just happy to win.
05:14Peripatre wins the day, but Adam Yates wins the title.
05:18Superb by a margin of six seconds to Peripatre.
05:21Gaudu on the podium in third.
05:24What an amazing day.
05:26What a great race this has been.
