00:00Etihad Rail has unveiled a new strategy. The UAE's rail network operator and developer
00:08said on Monday that its new strategy would be to connect all of the UAE's ports to try
00:13and enhance the country's economic success. This follows the news that Etihad Rail has
00:19confirmed funding for stage two of the project and has already pre-approved a number of international
00:26contractors to bid for work on stage two of connecting the UAE via rail networks.
00:35It also unveiled new branding for the company which it says represents the strong, bold
00:40colours of the company's dedication to connecting the entire country via train and rail network.
00:48Elsewhere the Expo 2020 organisers announced that they had awarded a 169 million dirham
00:55contract on Sunday night to local UAE contractor Arab Tech. They're a construction group that
01:01have worked on a number of very iconic projects around Dubai. And Expo said on Sunday that
01:07they would be helping to build Al-Wasl Plaza, the central feature of the Expo site. It'll
01:14be a large public gathering square where people can relax, eat and take in the surroundings
01:20and so on. The organisers of Expo said that the decision was to try and invest and provide
01:25contracts and work to local UAE countries to ensure that that value remains within the
01:32UAE. Arab Tech of course being a local company. And lastly Nissan, the Japanese automaker
01:38has said that it has chosen Japan over the UK as its new destination to build the X-Trail
01:44model of cars. It didn't say why exactly although the change in diesel and also of
01:51course Brexit were understood to have a large influence on the car maker's decision. The
01:57plant was originally intended to manufacture the car in Sunderland, a northern city in
02:02the UK. But of course with a new potential tariff of 10% being added to all exports from
02:09the UK to Europe post-Brexit, it doesn't look as attractive an investment for the Japanese
02:16company as it did before when there were of course no tariffs on trade between the UK
02:22and Europe. That's all for today. You can find out more on golfnews.com. I'm Ed Clouds
02:27and see you tomorrow.
