00:00Every individual who works for the Expo project contributes in their own way a legacy
00:06to what Dubai and the UAE will showcase when the time comes.
00:10What we want to achieve for Expo 2020 is that when a visitor passes through those gates
00:15with all the wonderful architecture that they see around themselves,
00:19they should feel like they're at home.
00:20I think Expo is just one of those lifetime opportunities
00:25that anyone who lives at the same time that Expo is happening should be there.
00:32What happened was back in 2016, I found the website and I registered my interest
00:38because there they have careers.
00:40At that time there wasn't any, there weren't many posted.
00:44So they said register your CV and we'll connect you so that you'll be in a database.
00:49Applied every now and then when a position came up but nothing really materialized.
00:55But back in November of 2017, I got a call saying we found your CV in the database
01:01and to my surprise, oh that system works.
01:04I got to know about Expo through the radio actually.
01:09They said that, they advertised saying they're looking for apprentices
01:14and it was a nine-month program.
01:17It was the first of their kind they were offering back in 2016 when I graduated.
01:22When I quit my job in 2000, well actually last year,
01:29beginning of 2018, I said that if I ever go back to events,
01:33it has to be something major like Expo 2020.
01:37The Expo is collaboration of different talented individuals
01:43who want to showcase the world what the UAE has to offer.
01:46It can mean a lot of things to different people,
01:48but for me it just showcases the country's dedication
01:51to uniting all these different nations together
01:55and to bring them in one setting for six months
01:59in the spirit of unity, collaboration and connecting minds as our theme says.
02:05To create a better future, it's a legacy in itself to be working for Expo.
02:10We've got people from over 65 plus different nationalities here at Expo 2020
02:15and when all of them collectively come together from different parts of the world,
02:19the platform and the knowledge they share, it's truly a unique experience.
02:23I don't think I would have got this anywhere
02:25even if I went around the world across my career.
02:28If I try to describe it, I think you know the saying
02:31that the grass is always greener somewhere else?
02:34When you're an expo, it's like you're on the green grass,
02:36like there's nowhere else you would rather be because that is the place to be now.
02:40The UAE is a blessing because back from supporting our family growing up,
02:4625 years my mom has been here and it really helped our family back then
02:51and then now I'm here and still the UAE is still a blessing, is still helping us out.
02:57So one word would be, I would just say it sums up the UAE is a blessing,
03:02not for me, not just for me, but for everybody who's here.
03:06Basically I was born in India and I came to Dubai when I was four years old.
03:11I've been here ever since, I'm 24 years old now,
03:14so it's been about over two decades I've been in Dubai.
03:17This is essentially home.
03:19The main messaging that Expo is giving the world is kind of the same messaging you can give
03:25as a person who works here, as a person who lives here,
03:28I'm just promoting this as the hub for all things future, all things new.
