00:00Welcome to the next edition of Caught in Crime with Ali, our Instagram television series
00:07we hope that you have been catching up on. If not, you can also log on to our Facebook
00:12and other channels to catch the earlier episodes. Today we are actually going to start off with
00:23a story which is a warning to parents. Yeah. Hi. Today we have a story about Fortnite,
00:32the online video game. Dubai police arrested a college student. He was blackmailing children
00:42who were playing the online game. He was promising them with the currency in this game. It's
00:49called V-Box. Okay. So when you get the V-Box. And from what I hear, it's very popular. A lot
00:55of kids are playing it. Since it was launched last year, more than 125 million people actually
01:03act really active in this game. So it's really popular. It's huge among children. I think maybe
01:10parents, they know about it because it's really, it's really popular. So this guy, he used the
01:16chat room in this game and he lured the children ages between nine and 10 years old who were
01:23playing the game. He was promising them to give them money or the V-Box in their accounts so they
01:28can develop their characters by weapons because it's a shooting game. So for the money, he was
01:36asking them to send private pictures of the children. So basically he was a pedophile who was
01:42on the prowl. Yes, yes, he was. So what happened, a mother noticed that her daughter was trying to
01:48send a picture to a stranger. So she noticed that, she discovered the whole scam and she reported it
01:55through e-crime platform, Dubai Police. So Dubai Police acted quickly and they identified the guy
02:00and they arrested him. They found more than 200 pictures of different children in his position.
02:09Dubai Police, they think that this guy was planning to blackmail the kids in the future.
02:14Or upload them online. Yes, or upload them online as a blackmail. It's a huge scam in my opinion
02:21because I've heard a lot about the Fortnite and the thing is, parents, they don't know how to
02:28kill their children while they're playing this game. Brigadier Jamal Jallaf, he's head of CID at
02:34Dubai Police, he just like, he told parents they need to be more friendly with their kids.
02:40They need to know what they're playing. Also they need to adjust the privacy or the settings in this
02:47game. Yes, because everybody can chat with your kid unless you change the privacy. So you only
02:55allow friends, you don't allow any requests, random requests. This guy, he was chatting with those kids
03:01who are playing the game and he was actually asking for their private pictures which is really
03:06scary because the kids inside your room, they can be easily influenced. And speaking of privacy
03:14settings, all apps, all games, all of them have privacy settings and that is something parents
03:19should familiarize themselves. Yes, I mean they should. Also Brigadier Jallaf, he said that
03:26don't punish your kids all the time because they will be afraid to come to you and tell you what's
03:32happening. So you don't know. The father of the college students, the suspect, he was shocked when
03:39he realized what his son was doing. He said that they thought he was studying because he was spending
03:44long hours inside his room alone. But the guy, he was actually doing something completely wrong.
03:52So yes, so do check what your children are doing.
03:59We have a positive note of a young boy who actually helped save a lot of lives and who
04:05got recognized by Sheikh Mohammed. Yes, this Emirati kid, he's in grade seven, his name is
04:10Khalifa. This guy, he was a real hero. What's happened recently, it was a school bus, so fire
04:18broke out in the school bus. So this kid actually, he's only 12 years old, he's from Kelba. He
04:26rescued his classmates and he pushed them all the way from the bus when he noticed that there
04:33was smoke and fire coming from behind and he alerted the driver who stopped. The nice thing
04:39of the whole story, this kid was really quiet and calm when the incident happened and the driver,
04:45he was calling the authorities for the bus fire and he couldn't even tell them where is
04:52the proper place of the bus. So the Khalifa, he took the phone from him and he spoke with the
04:59triple line, the office in the triple line, who identified the location of the bus and then they
05:05managed to rescue all the kids that were in the bus. So the calm nerves of this boy, I mean what
05:11he did, it was really heroic. He saved the lives of the students and saved his life. So he was
05:17appraised by Sheikh Mohammed recently. He visited his school yesterday and he praised him of what
05:22what he did and the father of Khalifa, he taught him what to do in emergency, to call triple line.
05:28Yes and that is something and I think that his honor Sheikh Mohammed has actually reiterated
05:34that parents should familiarize their children with safety measures, especially fire safety
05:41measures and all these stories, the details etc you can definitely find on gofnews.com
05:48so don't fail to log on and check them up.
05:56And we have another story of a rescue involving a Nepalese lifeguard. Yeah, I mean this guy he's
06:04also a hero. He's a lifeguard, he's from Nepal. He was walking with his fiancée in Alcos area.
06:10It was around 10 p.m when three people stood in front of him. They posed as policemen at Dubai
06:19police. They asked for their IDs and stuff and then they dragged the woman to a nearby car and
06:26they tried to rape her. They tied the guy, two of them tried to control the guy and
06:32the third he dragged the woman to the back seat of the car, tried to rape her.
06:36She started yelling for his name so he pushed them away. He managed to free himself.
06:43He went and rescued his fiancée. So he rescued his fiancée from attempted rape.
06:50Yeah, I mean I think he's a real life hero what he did. I mean at the end it's his fiancée.
06:55The fourth story which is really strange but which is I think it's kind of a double-edged
07:06sword. I mean if you have neighbors who are troublesome you can escalate it but then
07:11things got a bit out of hand. Yeah, this case recently came to Dubai court of first incidence.
07:16It's about a residential tower in business bay. Neighbors were complaining about loud music
07:23coming from an apartment of a British man. And you said but they've been pretty patient actually.
07:30Yeah, it's after six months they called Dubai police for him. Okay. So this he was annoying
07:35them for they claimed that it's for six months with loud music and they kept asking him to stop
07:41but he refused. So finally they contacted Dubai police. So a police patrol went to the residential
07:47tower. They knocked on the door they asked they were speaking softly with the guy asking him that
07:53what you're doing is wrong because you're annoying your neighbors. This guy he was under the influence
08:00of alcohol. So he fought with the two police officers. He ripped off their uniform and scratched
08:08neck of one of the officers. I mean yeah but finally Dubai police they controlled him and they
08:14took him to police station. Yeah. This guy he's today he was on trial for annoying neighbors and
08:21also attacking a policeman. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he being drunk under the influence he was
08:28under the influence of alcohol also. So it was one of this strange stories today at courtroom. Yeah.
