00:00Komelec is speeding up the printing of balotas as per the agency that will finish the printing until April 14.

00:14The Commission on Elections is speeding up the verification of the balotas being printed for the Hatol ng Bayan 2025.
00:22Today, Komelec is focusing on the addition of more than 200 balotas that the Commission hired to do the verification.
00:31According to Komelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia,
00:33because of this, the addition of balotas that can be verified will reach up to 1 million from the previous 600 million each day.
00:42Because of this, they will be able to reach the target of printing balotas faster until April 14.
00:49As an explanation, Komelec is doing the verification to make sure that there are no defective balotas that can be used in the election.
00:59There are two types of this process.
01:01There is manual and machine verification.
01:03Ultimo smudge.
01:05However, as long as the machine is rejected, it will be considered defective and Komelec will have to reprint it.
01:12According to Paul Body, the number of rejected balotas is lower compared to the previous 25 to 30 percent.
01:18Meanwhile, in total, Komelec has printed 27 million balotas.
01:24This is 36 percent from the total of 72 million that they need to finish.
01:30As of now, only 3 to 4 million have passed the verification.
