00:00The Court of Appeal has unanimously dismissed an appeal seeking to prevent the High Court

00:06from hearing a lawyer's legal challenge to his arrest and remand.

00:11The Attorney General sought to prevent lawyer Rosli Dahlan from bringing proceedings against

00:16the police and government for wrongfully arresting him during investigations into ISERV online

00:21mall sender Berhad in 2023.

00:24A three-member bench chaired by Justice Supang Lian said today that they found no merit

00:29in Dusuki Mokhtar's appeal.

00:32Supang said the High Court was entitled to determine whether an application for leave

00:36to bring judicial review proceedings was frivolous or whether the applicant has an arguable case.

00:43Last year, Justice Ahmad Kamal Shahid, now an appeals court judge, granted Rosli leave

00:48to pursue his legal challenge, citing tribal issues as regards his remand, tribal ban and

00:54the freezing of his bank accounts.

00:56On December 29, 2023, Rosli filed for judicial review of the police and government's actions,

01:02claiming the police abused their powers under the anti-money laundering law.

01:07He also accused the police of falsely linking him to a 2018 police report lodged by AirAsia,

01:14which claimed it had been cheated by ISERV.
