00:00A good morning to all of us, this is the latest weather update for Monday, February 17, 2025.
00:12At the moment, we are not being watched by LPA or typhoons inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:19And if we can see here in our latest satellite animation, a large part of our country is experiencing severe weather.
00:27At the moment, we are not being watched by heavy clouds that could cause heavy rains throughout the day.
00:37Except here in Northern Luzon, due to the continuous effects of the typhoon and the shear line,
00:44we can experience heavy rains along the eastern sections of the Northern Luzon area.
00:49And the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ could also experience heavy rains in the southern portions of Mindanao and Palawan.
01:01And we expect that the next few days, the weather will continue to be clear for a large part of our country
01:08within the next two days or until Wednesday.
01:11And when Thursday comes, there is a possibility of heavy rains in the easterlies,
01:16the hot winds coming from the Pacific Ocean here in the eastern sections of our country.
01:25Let's talk about the weather conditions here in Luzon today.
01:29As we mentioned earlier, due to the effects of the shear line and the strong winds,
01:35we can experience heavy rains here in the eastern portions of the Northern and Central Luzon area.
01:41For areas of Batanes, like Cagayan and Apayaw, we can experience light to moderate rains due to the effects of the strong winds.
01:50And here in Isabela and Aurora, we can experience moderate to at times heavy rains due to the effects of the shear line.
01:59That's why it's doubly hot for our countrymen due to the possibility of flooding or landslides,
02:04especially in the Hazard or Low-Lying Areas.
02:09In the colder parts of Luzon, we expect that the weather will continue to be clear.
02:14It will be hot, especially when the afternoon comes,
02:17and there is a possibility of shortness of rain or sudden rainstorms,
02:24more often in the afternoon or at night.
02:27As for the temperature forecast for the neighboring cities here in Luzon,
02:31for Lawag, Tuguegarao, Metro Manila, and Legazpi,
02:36our maximum temperatures can reach 31°C.
02:40The temperature in Baguio is between 17°C to 23°C and 22°C to 30°C for Tagaytay.
02:50There will be times in the vast majority of our country for Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao areas.
02:57Due to the effects of the Intertropical Conversion Zone or ITCZ,
03:01the rainy season can still be experienced here in Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi,
03:07as well as here in Palawan, although more on the southern portions of Palawan area.
03:12And for the rest of Visayas and Mindanao, generally, we expect fair weather conditions today,
03:18except for the isolated thunderstorms that are more often experienced in the afternoon or at night.
03:25As for the temperature forecast for the neighboring cities here in Palawan,
03:29for Calayaan Islands, our maximum temperatures can reach 32°C and 24°C to 31°C for Puerto Princesa.
03:39As for neighboring cities, for Visayas, our maximum temperatures for Iloilo, Tacloban,
03:45as well as Cebu, can reach 31°C.
03:48And for neighboring cities, for Mindanao, for Cagayan de Oro,
03:52our maximum temperatures can reach 31°C.
03:55For Metro Davao, it's 24°C to 30°C.
03:58And for Zamboanga, it's 24°C to 33°C.
04:04As for the location of our ocean, we don't have a gale warning or warning for high waves.
04:11However, we are still hoping that there will be moderate to high waves in the coastal areas of Northern Luzon.
04:19That's why we are just being careful in our plans for the coastal areas.
