00:06to talk about their successful campaign in the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China

00:12that resulted in a good amount of gold medals for the country.

00:15That's what our teammate Daryl Oclares has to say.

00:20The Philippine Men's Curling Team faced the media for the first time this week

00:25at the Knights Templar Hotel in Tagaytay City.

00:28Our countrymen will only arrive from Harbin, China

00:32where they made a great success in the Men's Tournament

00:36and won the first gold medal of the Philippines in the 9th Asian Winter Games.

00:41The whole team and their coaches were present at the press conference

00:46led by the Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham Bambol-Tolentino.

00:51At the interview of Radio Pilipinas 2 with the Philippine Men's Curling Team Captain Mark Fister,

00:57he was able to convince him that they won the gold medal.

01:01At the moment, it's still unbelievable. It's like a miracle.

01:05They are really strong. They are professional teams.

01:08The Japanese, the Korean and the Chinese.

01:11Before the Chinese Games, we told my team,

01:18they are bigger, they are stronger, they are better.

01:21The only advantage that we had is the experience.

01:25It was a huge success for Fister to introduce curling here in the Philippines.

01:32I think it was really important.

01:35They told us the final game was live on TV here in the Philippines.

01:41I think most of the people didn't know that sport.

01:44They saw it for the first time, I think so.

01:48I think it's a really big step for our sport to promote that here in the Philippines.

01:55The game of the Philippine Men's Curling Team is not yet over

02:00because they will try again in the series of pre-qualification tournaments

02:04for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano, Cortina, Italy

02:09where they will target the gold medal for the Philippines.
