00:00Good evening, this is Manjusha Radhakrishnan from Gulp News. I'm the entertainment editor
00:12and I've just been to watch Salman Khan's Tiger 3. It's the Diwali release and it's
00:18a star-studded spectacle. It's actually an action spectacle that stars Salman Khan, Katrina
00:23Khair and Imran Hashmi in Crucial Roles. Now, if Hollywood has a Mission Impossible
00:30where Ethan Hunt plays the super spy, then in this case, we have Salman Khan, the brawny
00:36superhero playing Tiger. He's an underpowered agent who works for India's intelligence wing.
00:43He's highly trained, highly skilled in combat. He can leap off buildings, jump off planes
00:49and do hand-to-hand combat with the grace of a cat. He's very good at his job. The
00:55Tiger 3 takes off after he's married to the Pakistani agent played by Katrina Khair who
01:01plays Zoya. They both are living an idyllic life in Austria but things don't go as well
01:06because Tiger is still on the job and he realizes that things are not as perfect with their life.
01:13Both of them have to fight a common enemy. Two places in Afghanistan, then to Turkey,
01:20then to Austria, then to Russia, then to Pakistan. I mean, this movie takes place
01:25in different parts of the globe and the action sequences are just grand. I mean,
01:31if you're looking for an action spectacle without a coherent screenplay, then this movie is for you.
01:37And I say that because I tried to keep up with the plot and I was not able to because I was like,
01:42what are they really trying to say? Who are they really trying to say? We may get a bit
01:47confused. But what does endure to you are the perfectly executed action sequences.
01:53Diltaf Salman Khan is very good in those action sequences and because he's got the star power,
01:58pull off improbable leaps and jumps from skyscrapers to bridges, to car chases and of
02:06course motorbike stunts. I think he has enough charisma and star power and the gravitas to pull
02:13it off. So we kind of go with the flow. The entire key to enjoying this movie is about going with
02:19the flow. Don't look for a very, very strong screenplay. You may not get it because it takes,
02:26you know, it is quite haphazard and difficult to keep up. And when it comes to Katrina Kaif,
02:30I have to say that she did very, very well in the action sequences, especially the scene where
02:36she has to fight off another equally strong Chinese woman played by actress Michelle. Both
02:43Michelle and Kaif are in top form. They're in a hammam. All they have is a bath towel wrapped
02:49around them, but there's no wardrobe malfunction. And kudos to the two women for making the stunt
02:55sequences look so seamless and graceful. Beautiful sequences there. That's one of the highlights of
03:00the film as well. Another highlight of this movie was when Pathan, where Shah Rukh Khan makes an
03:07entry that took the cake in terms of like one of the best entries of another spy into the spy wars.
03:15So there was Tiger and Pathan. Pathan comes in, swoops in to save the world, save the day and
03:21save Tiger. I think it's really hit the mark. Both of them have such good chemistry. I have to add
03:27both Salman and Shah Rukh are also good friends in real life. They have this kind of witty dynamic
03:33between them. They're cheeky with each other. The jokes land. And of course, they make fun of each
03:38other. Wonderful to see two spies who are very capable and have their own little films come
03:44together for Tiger 3. Both Salman and Shah Rukh are in top form. In fact, when I was in the theatre
03:49today, which was like a full house, I saw people clapping and cheering. It's very clear that when
03:55these two superstars collide and join hands, then you get the maximum traction as well. And
04:00director Manish Sharma does a great job of extracting that particular potential. Imran Hashmi,
04:06he's always the ever dependable villain. Even when it comes to saying those menacing lines,
04:12it really lands and we feel suitably scared. So a movie is as good as its villain. So Imran Hashmi
04:18is very, very serviceable and efficient in this particular role. There are also actors like Kumud
04:24Mishra, who play the supporting agents to Tiger. And of course, Revati, who plays the political
04:31leader from India. And Simran, who plays the PM of Pakistan. They do such a good job as well.
04:38There's a lot of women in this movie, which I thought they had good roles as well. They're not
04:42just there as a token existence. I really like the part that this movie, when it comes to action as
04:48well, it's gender neutral and the women have decent roles to play as well. But if you're looking for
04:53a very, very interesting plot or trying to make sense of what is happening when, then you're not
05:00likely to find much success in Tiger 3. This is like a firecracker of a movie. Like if you're in
05:06the Diwali mood, you are in the mood to watch a bombastic spectacle, filled with stunts, a bit of
05:13song, there's a bit of glamour. And then there's of course, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan, both very,
05:19very good looking actors collide on the big screen. Then perhaps this one is for you. Be
05:25warned when it comes to Katrina Kaif, when it comes to the emotional scenes, she doesn't do
05:29too well because she looks quite wooden. But when it comes to the stunt sequences,
05:34she's perfectly cast. I think it is the stunt sequences where they all excel at.
05:39Both, it's Salman Khan's show all the way. I'm going with 3.5 out of 5. For a full review,
