00:00I just want to say thank you for the, I want to thank Variety for my nice review for my movie Kind of Pregnant.
00:07Yeah, Owen loved it. I think it was Owen Gleiberman who did that.
00:09Yeah, yeah, it was. Thank you.
00:11So, you have a hit movie on Netflix.
00:13Right. I do. I have a hit movie on Netflix.
00:16There's a lot of talk about how the comedy, it's hard to get a comedy movie pitched around town these days.
00:22Yeah.
00:23How do you do that? What are the keys to doing that?
00:25Well, I don't know, because critics and audiences, it seems like they really want to watch sad shit, you know?
00:35I don't know. So, for a comedy, I don't think the business can make as much money off a comedy.
00:43So, I think it's really got to be people who love film and they love making movies that make people laugh.
00:48Do you think it's harder to do comedy today, whether it's because of a perception of political correctness
00:54or whether there's a fear of backlash?
00:57I don't feel like it's harder. I feel like it's better, and it's good to get people educated and involved.
01:05Yeah, I wouldn't take an ounce of it away.
01:11As someone who has a very proficient background in sketch comedy, what is the key to bombing gracefully?
01:19Well, the key is that once you've done it so many times, you can't even feel it.
01:26You just have to laugh at yourself when you're bombing, you know?
01:29And if you're a real comic, you can dig yourself out of the hole.
01:34How do you do that?
01:36By just showing, I think, the crowd how dead you are inside and how you've bombed way worse.
01:43You can't even feel it.
01:47A crowd feels safe in your hands when they know, okay, this person can't even feel it anymore because they're a real comic.
01:54Do you have any SNL favorite sketches or moments that you'd like to see tonight?
02:00Oh, God. Well, my favorite all-time sketch is the census bureau.
02:05It was Tim Meadows and Christopher Walken taking the census, and it's insane.
02:13It's my favorite one of all time, but there's so many great ones.
02:17What do you have coming next? What are you working on?
02:20My next thing is going to be writing, starring, and directing in my own movie.
02:25Nice. Can you give us a hint as to what it's about?
02:29Um, no.
02:31I'll keep it a secret.
02:32Okay, okay. No, but you know me. I'm always looking to make the ladies laugh.
