03:36Still in Munich, the Moroccan Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development
03:42took part in this meeting on security.
03:45Interviewed by Bloomberg TV channel, Leila Ben Ali highlighted the kingdom's assets
03:51in terms of green energy.
03:53For the minister, Morocco is positioned as one of the most competitive countries
03:58in the field of renewable energies and which attracts many investors.
04:07The special envoy of Median TV, Addis Abeba Oumeymas Bila,
04:12returns on the participation of Morocco at the 38th summit of the African Union,
04:17which takes place this weekend.
04:19Here are its developments.
04:22It is the second and last day of the African Union summit,
04:26held here in Addis Abeba.
04:29To return to the participation of Morocco,
04:33the kingdom has played an active role on several key issues.
04:38We are talking about peace and security, continental integration,
04:42health security and even climate change,
04:47without forgetting the renewal of the leadership of the African Union Commission.
04:52What marked this summit was that the question of the Moroccan Sahara
04:57was not addressed, which obviously goes against the claims
05:04of those who contest the territorial integrity of the kingdom.
05:08The idea was to focus on what is really urgent and priority for Africa
05:15without being distracted by limited and unhealthy political agendas.
05:20As in previous meetings, Morocco once again showed
05:27all the value of its contribution.
05:30For example, during the meeting of the UN Council of Peace and Security,
05:35meeting heads of state and government to discuss the situation in Sudan
05:41and the crisis in eastern RDC,
05:44the kingdom proposed, and this was adopted unanimously,
05:49to establish a humanitarian reserve in Sudan during Ramadan.
05:55The aim is to allow access to humanitarian aid without any discrimination.
06:03Morocco also distinguished itself during a high-level meeting
06:08on the financing of health by announcing a significant contribution
06:14to strengthen health security across the continent.
06:19It should be noted that eight years ago, Morocco regained its place
06:25in the large African institutional family,
06:28although eight years is short for multilateral institutions.
06:34But it was largely enough for the kingdom to reaffirm itself
06:39as a key player thanks to a royal, enlightened and proactive vision.
06:44Morocco was also elected to the UN Council of Peace and Security
06:49for two terms, 2018-2020 and 2022-2025.
06:54During this period, the kingdom launched concrete initiatives
07:01inspired by the vision of King Mohammed VI.
07:06Morocco was also able to impose itself within the structures of the UN Commission
07:12by ensuring the presence of qualified high-profile figures
07:16as evidenced by the nomination of strategic posts such as that of the General Director of the CUA,
07:22without forgetting other key positions.
07:28To sum up, this active participation of Morocco and its many initiatives
07:33clearly demonstrates Morocco's deep commitment to the future of Africa,
07:38working concretely for peace, security and development of the continent.
07:44Thank you very much.
07:49And at this summit of the heads of state of the African Union,
07:52Djiboutian Mahmoud Ali Youssouf was elected on Saturday
07:56for a four-year term as President of the Commission of the Union.
07:59He succeeded the Tchadian Moussa Faki Mahamat,
08:03the new President of the Commission,
08:05who has held for nearly 20 years the functions of Minister of Foreign Affairs.
08:09He was preferred to the veteran of the Kenyan opposition,
08:13Raila Odinga, who was a favorite.
08:19And then there is the Republic of Angola,
08:22which has assured since yesterday the running presidency of the African Union.
08:26President of Angola, Jao Lourenço, has received the attributes of power
08:30and thus becomes the new President-in-Executive of the Pan-African Organization
08:35for a one-year term.
08:37He takes over after the Mauritanian President, Mohamed Oulsher Razouani.
08:46In Morocco now, the inauguration of Rabat of the Moroccan Cinémathèque.
08:51It was yesterday at the headquarters of the Moroccan Cinémathèque.
08:55Like the international cinemathèques,
08:58this new structure offers a space dedicated to the conservation,
09:03documentation and restoration of the national cinematographic heritage,
09:08as well as to the promotion of Moroccan and international cinematographic works.
09:22That was all for this Sunday.
09:25See you next time on Mediïn TV.
