As many as 21,000 people at 20 locations in the UAE are having free iftar meals every day during this Ramadan, thanks to a charity drive run by two expat brothers.
Malawian brothers Imran and Mohammed Karim initially started the ‘Happy Happy UAE’ initiative in 2015 to serve construction workers in Dubai on a daily basis. Over the last eight years, the businessmen expanded the initiative to reach out to more and more people. They dedicate time every day to feed thousands of workers, with the support of volunteers who help them distribute the meals.

00:00We have the initiative here in Dubai.
00:15In fact, in the UAE, it's called Happy Happy.
00:18We've been doing this for a number of years, at least seven
00:19to eight years, Alhamdulillah.
00:21This initiative actually is to spread love between the people.
00:25The people that you see around us, Alhamdulillah, they are
00:27the people that built this country.
00:28They built the communities that we're standing on and we owe
00:31them and as a result of that, Alhamdulillah, we try to give
00:34them the best of ourselves, the best of this country.
00:37The government has approved us, MashaAllah, they love what
00:40we do, the initiative that we do and they actually come to
00:42take part in our initiative, Alhamdulillah.
00:44So we're Malawi brothers in Dubai, serving communities
00:48from India, Pakistan, from Bangladesh, from all around
00:51the world, Alhamdulillah, we don't have borders.
00:54We don't look at community.
00:55We don't look at color, religion, race.
00:56Everybody is welcome and we serve every community.
00:59Last year we started with a million meals, Alhamdulillah,
01:02this year we're on 1.2 million, Alhamdulillah, and the figures
01:05haven't capped there.
01:06The days are still, we still got 10 days left in Ramadan
01:09and we're hoping to smash that, InshaAllah, by far.
01:11We have a total of 20 camps that we serve on a daily basis,
01:14over 21,000 meals a day, sometimes above 25,000, especially
01:18at the weekends, Alhamdulillah, we've got nine in Dubai.
01:20We've got 11 in Sajjah, which is in Sharjah.
01:23As you can see, we've got the volunteers from MSS, Alhamdulillah,
01:25they're supporting us with their volunteers and we're supporting
01:28them with our input, Alhamdulillah.
01:30We're working together as a team, serving the Ummah, MashaAllah.
01:32For those who want to take part, please do.
01:35We're looking for volunteers always to come and spread the
01:37love. Our message to the community is that we're here.
01:40We're serving.
01:41We need you to come and volunteer, spread the love, let the
01:45people know that UAE, we love you, people of the world,
01:48we love you.
01:49We're here to serve you.
