00:00The new 4.7-kilometer Farm-to-Market Roads was a big help in increasing the production and income of farmers in Bayugan City, Agusan, Delsur.

00:10Jennifer Peña-Gaytano of the Philippine Information Agency, Caraga, has the details of the country's latest news.

00:18The 4.7-kilometer Farm-to-Market Roads from Barangay Bukak, San Isidro, to Barangay Marcelina in the city of Bayugan, Agusan, Delsur, were turned over immediately.

00:27For a long time, they have been having a hard time traveling because the roads are not yet cemented and good.

00:33Now, it will be easier for the residents because of the support of the Department of Agriculture, Caraga, together with the Provincial Government of Agusan, Delsur.

00:41In the past, we used to travel by car. Now, we are traveling by motorcycle.

00:50The barangay residents have accepted the certificates and responsibilities in ensuring the safety of the commuters.

00:57The Farm-to-Market Road project was funded by the World Bank with the help of the DA Philippine Rural Development Program, National Government, and the European Union,

01:06with more than P60 million, 10 percent of the total contribution from the Provincial Government of Agusan, Delsur.

01:14DA Caraga Regional Executive Director Arlan Mangelen encouraged the sectors to work together to maintain food production and security,

01:22not just in the province, but throughout the country.

01:25Agusan, Delsur is a landlocked area where a large portion of the rubber industry is located.

01:30That is why the government is continuing to work together with the private sector to provide important interventions that will benefit the province.
