00:00It's tough at the moment to look at Wolves without picking out Mateus Cunha. He's obviously
00:10confirmed that deal after an amazing performance against Aston Villa, sealing the win at Molyneux.
00:15Sort of a perfect night for Wolves fans in what's been a real torrid season. There was
00:20obviously questions when Vito Pereira came in and pointed out Cunha's attitude problems
00:25as well. So quite a strange situation there, but it seems like that dust has settled and
00:31Cunha's very much so back to his best. An amazing performance away at Blackburn Rovers
00:36as well. Interesting the fact that Vito sort of played his main players in that game, introduced
00:42the likes of Giao Gomez back into the side as well. Cunha has been so important. What's
00:48the importance of the deal? I know obviously it includes that big release clause, but if
00:54he carries on, I'm sure top teams across Europe would probably pay that. So how do
00:59you sort of summarise this deal and where it leaves him and his Wolves future?
01:05I'm not sure if he'll stay long term. I know that's not what Wolves fans want to hear,
01:08but it's kind of the reality of it, isn't it? Because you can see the quality he brings
01:12on the pitch week in and week out, the effort he brings as well. It's very strange with
01:16that body language situation away at Chelsea, wasn't it, where Vito just wasn't happy at
01:21all with what he saw. But I think that was a one-off. The players just had a bit of an
01:24off night. I mean, there's been plenty of off nights this season for the squad as a
01:27whole, but Cunha is normally the one performing. That was one off night. Rest of the season,
01:33though, he's been excellent. Just the way he turns away from defenders. He's got that
01:36impetus he has to attacks. He can drive forward. He can create moments in an instant. That
01:40second goal against Villa, just the way he turned away from Konzi. I think Konzi's got
01:44him here. He's going to jockey him and get the ball out. No, he beat two or three defenders
01:48in the end, squeezed it through a gap into the far corner. Such quality. And even if
01:52he is here only until the end of the season, I think that's still a huge boost for Wolves.
01:57Had he gone in January, maybe to the likes of Arsenal or Nottingham Forest, that's such
02:00a key talismanic figure you're losing in a relegation battle, which doesn't just mean
02:04staying in a division. It also means keeping the financial side of the club at bay. And
02:09you know how much Wolves have struggled with their finances over recent years, not being
02:12able to make too many signings. Just imagine what it'd be like if they dropped down to
02:15the Championship. Yeah, results might improve, the morale might improve, but the overall
02:19perspective of the football club wouldn't. £62.5 million is the release clause. I can
02:24see a club activating that in the summer, to be honest. He's been that good. And if
02:27he does go, well, obviously it's a big blow, but Wolves can then rebuild if they stay up
02:32in the summer, bring in some players with that money, hopefully some younger faces coming
02:36through as well, and they can build on from that. So as much as it would be a big loss
02:41having Kounia exiting the building, I don't think it'd be too catastrophic. And quickly,
02:45just a note on the defence. I want to shout out Agbadoo and Toti Gomez. That duo coming
02:50into the defence has made such a difference for Wolves, especially Toti, just giving them
02:54that structure on the left-hand side and back-to-back clean sheets. So well done to those two and
02:58hopefully more to continue.
