00:00On the government of Venezuela rejected on Tuesday through a communiqué a false flag
00:04operation carried out by the government of Guyana. The official statement starts by reinforcing that
00:11the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the vile montage promoted by the
00:16government of Guyana, which through its foreign minister, Hugh Hilton Todd, intends to spread a
00:22hostile and malicious false narrative about an alleged attack against Guyanese troops.
00:28This is a false flag operation and fake news designed to manipulate public opinion
00:33and divert attention from the violations of international law that Guyana is committing
00:39in the Guyanese Akiva. The communiqué follows by unveiling Venezuela is investigating the facts
00:45and the first elements gathered point to the fact that elements linked to illegal mining,
00:51which operate in the Guyanese Akiva under the protection of the Guyanese army and police,
00:56were attacked and injured. These citizens are currently receiving medical attention in
01:01Venezuelan territory. We denounce that the government of Guyana, in its eagerness to cover
01:07up its illegal actions in the disputed territory, results to disinformation and warmongering
01:14propaganda to justify its increasing militarization supported by the United States Southern Command,
01:20which constitutes a threat to regional peace. The official communication also states
01:24Venezuela demands that the foreign ministry of Guyana cease his aggressions and lies,
01:30and that instead of fomenting confrontation, he complies with his obligations under the Geneva
01:36Agreement of 1966, which establishes dated negotiation between the parties as the only
01:42way to resolve the territorial dispute. In its closing remarks, the communiqué reads,
01:48the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reaffirms its firm commitment to peace and to the restitution
01:54of its sovereign rights over Guyana's Akiva, in straight adherence to international law
01:59and historical truth.
