00:00And as part of the celebration of Filipino culinary heritage, a book titled
00:05Kayu Manggi, A Kaleidoscope of Filipino Flavors and Food Traditions was launched.
00:10This was written by the founder of the Philippine culinary heritage movement
00:14chef Jan Melchor and was printed in cooperation with the Department of Trade
00:19and Industry or DTI. It contains over 100 treasured recipes from different parts
00:24of the Philippines, reflecting the country's rich culture. The unique talent
00:29and creativity of the Filipino is also recognized in the book as well as the
00:33rich history of Filipino cuisine that that can be considered a treasure for
00:39the country. I realized that I had over time compiled a collection of heirloom
00:45recipes, dishes that I carefully gathered through research and travel and
00:50perfected over the years, where I proudly represented and showcased Philippine
00:55cuisine on global stage.
