00:00Hello and welcome, it's time for your Economy News.
00:12Morocco should see its GDP progress from 2.9% in 2024 to an average of 3.8% in 2025 and 2026,
00:22or 3.9% this year and 3.6% next year.
00:27According to the new African Development Bank report, this growth will mainly be stimulated by a resumption of agricultural production,
00:36which has been affected in recent years by unfavourable weather conditions.
00:41On a continental scale, the GDP growth should go from 3.2% in 2024 to 4.1% this year and reach 4.4% in 2026.
00:55This improvement, according to the same source, is explained by the implementation of economic reforms aimed at countering the crisis of cost of living,
01:03budgetary consolidation and stabilization of public debts.
01:08In 2025, 24 African countries should record a growth of more than 5%, confirming the economic resilience of the continent,
01:18which remains the second region with the fastest growth in the world.
01:23In national economic news as well, the Chinese group Lingyun announced its intention to build two car parts factories in Morocco.
01:34The first site, a car pipe project, will target car manufacturers and spare parts suppliers,
01:41including Tesla, Volvo, Plastic, Ominium, Stellantis and Maigna International.
01:47The project will have a capital of 8 million dollars, or about 80 million dirhams.
01:53As for the structural parts project of the bodywork, endowed with a capital of 13.8 million dollars,
02:00it will produce battery boxes, high-resistance parts, by profiling and other components.
02:07The factory will be able to supply Stellantis, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
02:12These future factories will be a joint-venture production base with the Chinese manufacturer of aluminum products, Aomei New Materials.
02:22In connection with Morocco, renewable energy production in Morocco should accelerate by 2027,
02:30allowing them to increase their share in global electricity production.
02:36This is the result of a report published by the International Energy Agency on the evolution of the electricity sector in the world between 2025 and 2027.
02:45The agency predicts an increase in the production of renewable energies in Morocco of 16% on average per year during the forecast period,
02:54which should make up their share in the production of electricity from 24% in 2024 to 35% in 2027.
03:03This evolution is largely due to the production of photovoltaic solar energy,
03:08which should know an average annual growth rate of 57% over the period considered,
03:15while wind energy should progress on average 15% per year.
03:20The report notes that Morocco aims to increase the share of the installed capacity of renewable energy production to at least 52% by 2030.
03:32Now let's move on to international economic news.
