00:00I'm really happy to be riding for the BMW family. I've had quite an up-and-down
00:11career. A lot of experience in Moto2, MotoGP, World Championship. After that I
00:18followed my passion with motorcycle racing and moved to World Supersport
00:24where I finished second in the World Championship. But something was missing
00:29for myself, so I decided to take the step and move into the World Endurance
00:34Championship, where I found it was a collective sport which I really enjoyed
00:39a lot and found my passion there. So this will be my fourth year in the World
00:46Endurance Championship and I'm really excited to be part of a factory team.
00:52I describe myself as a racer in the way that I really look at the bigger picture.
01:03I really try and find all the experience that I've used in the past to try bring
01:10myself forward to make myself a better rider. I'm also quite humble as a way
01:19that I listen to a lot of people and try to understand if it's good or bad and
01:24then make my own decision whether or not to use their advice or not. As a racer I
01:31would say I can be very pleasant on track but don't answer, cannot upset me
01:37because then I'm quite aggressive back. But I guess that's in most racers' agenda.
01:49I think personally I can bring forth some experience from myself. I think
01:56also the endurance suits my riding style because I'm quite a good endurance rider
02:02in terms of consistency and being a team player. I think that being a
02:10team player is quite important and I'm not a very egoistic rider, so I'm happy
02:16to help my teammates when I can and I think this is the success in endurance.
02:25My goal is I think the same as my teammates. We want to win this
02:30championship. We want to bring it home for BMW. So I'm really going to put in
02:36all the effort I can to make sure I'm at 100% fitness level and also learn from
02:42my teammates because they have definitely a lot more experience than I
02:45do on BMW. So I'd like to learn from them as quick as possible and then just
02:51take that knowledge and use it while I'm racing.
02:56I think the biggest challenge is to be faced with a challenge unexpected. So
03:02either oil on track or one of your teammates by accident cannot participate
03:09in one of the sessions and you have to be taking up that part of their work
03:16which is part of your job as well. I think this is really difficult but at
03:20the same time when you're not surprised by this, I think this is the best way to
03:26approach the situation.
03:31I'm really happy with the team. I think that it goes really well together.
03:37I'm really enjoying my teammates and I feel at home already which is unusual
03:44because to be in a team for the first time, normally you feel quite awkward or
03:50especially in an endurance team where the workload is split by three. But my
03:58teammates have made me feel very welcome and I'm really happy with that.
04:03The bike is really nice. I really enjoyed being on a factory bike. It feels so
04:12powerful which is great for myself and I'm looking really forward to the
04:17first race of the season.
04:21I will be doing a lot of cardiovascular work, a lot of bicycle riding as well as
04:28core and fitness work in the gym. I've taken up a new part of my training. I've
04:36started swimming so I think this is really good for your breathing as well
04:40as your cardio. So I'm really looking forward to the season and I think that
04:45changing things up a little bit also can help a lot.
04:51The first race. I'm looking forward to Le Mans 24-hour. I think it's a very
04:57exciting race and to be on the podium at Le Mans is something special.
