00:00Maybe before we answer the questions, first of all, we should understand why we are here.
00:15First of all, public transportation is one of the most important sectors of our society
00:28because it transports our countrymen from their homes to their workplaces,
00:35from their homes to malls, to places where families go,
00:42from their homes to schools for our students.
00:47That is why it is very important that the priority of the government is to provide an efficient and proper transport system for our countrymen.
01:00That is what our beloved President said when we first met a week and a half ago.
01:10You know, when we look at the daily lives of our countrymen,
01:17from the moment that they wake up in the wee hours of the morning,
01:22most of our countrymen and women, they wake up at 4am, a little early,
01:30then they travel for 2-3 hours to work.
01:36They work for 8-9 hours, then they travel again for 2-3 hours, sometimes even more.
01:46When they arrive home, maybe it is already 10pm,
01:51their children are already asleep.
01:53Even if they can't be with them at night,
01:56their families, their spouses, they are already tired.
02:01Maybe they are already sleeping.
02:03So, they eat, their family is already asleep,
02:07maybe they will just say goodnight and go to sleep.
02:12To do that again the next day, and the day after, and the day after that.
02:19They do that over and over again.
02:21Our countrymen travel almost every day.
02:27As we can see here in Metro Manila,
02:31you get on the monument, the MRT or the busway,
02:37when it is rush hour, maybe it is 2 o'clock,
02:40or maybe even more,
02:42you will ride like the sardines inside the train or the bus.
02:47When you get off, it is rush hour again.
02:49When you get off, if it is raining, there is no flood.
02:54So, I think that is the purpose of what we need to do,
03:03and we need to do it quickly,
03:05the different infrastructures
03:07that will somehow alleviate the hardships our countrymen are going through every day.
03:14That is what our President said first.
03:17We have to fast track all the ongoing projects of the past administrations,
03:26and also start the projects that are in the pipeline
03:32so that in 5 years, 6 years, 10 years, 15 years,
03:40we will somehow alleviate the hardships our countrymen are going through every day.
